Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Yes, speaking seriously for once, I do use the rear seats for a 5 year old and a 3 year old, both of whom love the car.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

Looks somehow familiar.... Oh yes - 997 coupe on the bottom half and 996 cabrio on the top half..... Nice, though.

POST 3Original post

I wonder if they have overcome the problem of the compromised rear seating suffered in the 996 cab?

POST 4Original post

What - those bits of leather in the back are SEATS! I wondered what they were for....

POST 5Original post

Actually, in the Coupe and Targa they work quite well (for small people or short journies).

POST 6Original post

Yes, speaking seriously for once, I do use the rear seats for a 5 year old and a 3 year old, both of whom love the car. If I agree to take it instead of the alternative there is much excited jumping and shouting. Usual noise from the back is "faster, daddy, faster...". It is known as "Daddy's car without a roof". I am trying to teach them to pronounce Porrr... She. But I did try sitting in the back myself. I say "try" because that doesn't infer any level of success....

POST 7Original post

I carried five in my 996 Coupe the other day! A chap had run out of petrol on the M5 and was stuck with three kids in pouring rain. The two boys sat in the back and he sat in the passenger seat with the youngest on his lap, whilst I took them the couple of miles to the next services. All in comfort. The rear seats in the cab are positioned differently and the back rest has no rake, to make room for the retracted roof. My kids didn't like it - too uncomfortable.
