Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Recently acquired a 2008 Cayman S that has it and upon inspection, this is the dirtiest filter I've ever seen....I took a shot at cleaning, but the debris is too gunked up. Evolution Motorsports logo is on the filter and according to their website, it was a custom design. Since they no longer make this, was wondering if anyone has had luck finding a replacement? Tried K&N's website but doesn't look like they have the right dimensions. Cool design but worst case, I'll juts go back to the stock design with BMC. https://www.sharkwerks.com/engine/p4355-evoms-v-flow-intake-system-for-987-987-2-cayman-EVOE095

POST 2Original post

Just put in a OEM paper filter. It filters better. You get no real performance boost from these oiled media filters, just some more intake noise. I tried a BMC years ago and started getting MAF codes after 6 months. After cleaning my MAF, I threw the BMC in the trash.

POST 3Original post

I understand the gains can be marginal at best, but the CNC machined part is what I was looking to still utilize. I didn't pay for it but since it's there, figured I'd see if anyone has been in the same predicament.
