This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Having recently completed a number of jobs on the C4 and got it through its MoT on the way home I started getting a knocking noise (like something rotating and banging) particularly when I come off the accelerator. There is nothing obvious underneath but when I rock a rear wheel back and forward I’m getting quite a loud noise from the final drive. Hopefully the video works, is this normal? I’ve recently changed both Gearbox (tip) and Front Diff oil so I will probably do the final drive for completeness. View attachment 153401

POST 2Original post

Sorry to ask the obvious, but have you checked the wheel bolts are tight? I had something similar after visiting a very accomplished wheel alignment place… and the wheel nuts on one wheel had been left un-torqued (that’s the polite version…)

POST 3Original post

Do you mean driveshafts and or wheel bearings/hub?

I wasn’t going to admit this but yes that was it! I shall now cancel my membership and rejoin with a completely different name! Thanks.
