Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

New to me 987.2 base. Supposed flood car. Followed stains under carpets found heater core leak to Bose amp connector at amp. Corrosion visable. I will care later about this. Previous owner bought and supplied used unit, nice guy. If everything else works except for convert able motor and spoiler motor, is the body module good? Windows lower automatically for door operation , is that a function of the body module? Any help or information would be helpful....

POST 2Original post

Since it's a flood car - the symptoms you've listed point to the rear body control module. There are several body control modules - the door control module (part of the latch assembly on the drivers door, also controls the windows). The "rear control module", which lives under the driver's seat. If the Bose amp (under passengers seat) got wet - chances are the rear body control module (under the drivers seat) is also toast. Even replacing the module may not solve your issues. The connectors that connect the wiring to the modules can corrode/electrolysis-damage and the wiring going to the connectors can be damaged by water being pulled up the wire by capillary action. If that's the case - the only real "fix" is to replace any connectors/harness where damage has occurred. That's where I'd start looking. Good luck, let us know how it's working out..
