Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

So it was possible some of the oil coated the mass air flow sensor so I checked and cleaned it and that had no effect.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

996 GT3, fuel consumption has gone downhill and remains at 11-12 mpg. I'm looking for a cause and possible fix.....please help

POST 2Original post

How much mileage on plugs/O2/air filter? Are they putting ethanol mix in the gas? I replaced my O2 sensors @ about 110K and got about 1 more MPG in city.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It has a K&N air filter installed. So it was possible some of the oil coated the mass air flow sensor so I checked and cleaned it and that had no effect. I suppose changing the plugs wouldn't hurt. The car has 27k miles on it. Also had a mech read any codes that may have cause an error but no codes appeared. my first thought is maybe some module linked with the computer may not be working properly. Northewest gas does use ethanol.

POST 4Original post

11-12mpg at the track would be great! That said, while ETHANOL is a part of your life, are there any other reformulations of gas in the PNW? Have you noticed an MPG drop in your other cars to point to a seasonal change of some type? is it particulalry colder or has your use changed (ie, commuting vs open weekend drives?)
