Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well gents after the challenging job of installing new manifolds (top gear ) and the silencers looking very new I’m on the verge of pressing the button for Topgear 200 cell cats and new set of sensors £900 but have this it’s not broken don’t fix it stuck in my head guidance please

POST 2Original post

Went with big bore X pipe recently, was worried it would be too loud. It's not, it's just perfect, small change below 4k and above...glory awaits. It's a bit more expensive at 1k after the forum discount (so £1300 including the sensors), but the big bore one is actually made in the UK with a better quality catalytic converter, the normal X-Pipe is made abroad (China I imagine), confirmed by topgear themselves.

POST 3Original post

If the silencers are the SPORTS version many think they are too loud (+ drone?) with 200 cell CATs, if they are the regular silencers then you should be ok.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well after another great run out today I’ve come home and ordered new cats and sensors with some new Porsche gaskets

POST 5Original post

I had TG 200 cell x-pipe with sports boxes for 7yrs on my 996 - yes they were louder than stock but had a nice burble overrun and with the x-pipe had a bit of a GT3 wail about them. I had my car remapped (rolling road) to make the best of the cats. Admittedly mine cost quite a bit less back then! FWIW, the noise was less than a Designtek switchable system with the exhausts in full ASBO mode that a friend had fitted and he didn't have uprated cats.
