Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello folks, I checked the oil filler cap on my 52 reg 996 a few days ago after reading a thread here about mayo/custard-like substance around the cap. The mayo was there, and I sponged out the water which was visible on the horizontal part of the filler tube. Normally the car is used for the daily commute (around 6 miles both directions) but over the last few days the car has been used for longer journeys with more of the rev range used. There still appears to be condensation on the inside of the filler cap and along the horizontal part of the filler tube. The car is garaged at night. Is it normal to have some condensation on the cap? Thanks for your help. Migration info. Legacy thread was 12053
