Sorry, this forum is really slow. The active 996 forum is over at Rennlist.com. They can and will answer your question very quickly. As for me, I am currently using the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 tires. They get really good reviews, are pretty quiet, have decent grip, seem to last quite a while, and give a reasonably soft ride for such a low profile tire. I run 285/30's in back and 225/40's in front. I just checked Discount Tires Direct. The rear tires are only $193 each and the fronts are only $125 each.

Be careful about downgrading your tires (from Bridgestone) I like to upgrade my car to keep it "new" Having sold tires for 4 tire stores over the years I have seen problems with all brands except Michelin. The superior rubber compounds used by Michelin extend the usable life of their tires 1 or 2 years beyond most brands, which could be a factor on low mileage cars like yours.
