Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

46 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nothing else to say really! Every time I get the car and go somewhere, I don't want to go home. In fact, it's like home Nothing like the music of the flat six (now unleashed) and a few twisties (well not quite, but a blast at simulated speeds)....

POST 2Original post

Me too. Twice today I took a drive and smiled the whole time. Had the sunroof and windows open so I could hear the melifluous sounds of my FisterD exhaust...

POST 3Original post

Meet too. Driving to work this morning: way up the tach in 2nd gear, punching through the city as all signals go green one after another in the blocks ahead of me, I just knew I was having more fun than any of the other commuters around me. TGIF!

You love it, the insurance company loves it, the tire dealers love it, the cops love it, the gas stations love it, the car wash soap company's love it, the wax companies love it, the kids love it, the other drivers love it. I guess you'll have to love it a lot.

POST 14Original post

i've thought about gettin the fisterD's but i jus can't bring myself to pay around $300 after all is said & done for a stock mufflers just like the ones i have, except for a lil' modification, what do you do if you don't like them after you put them on, you have to send them your stock mufflers back, so your kinda stuck with them like'em or not.. is the sound of the fisters somewhere between a stock muffler & the by-pass pipes, which i heard sound like if you jus unhook your mufflers, very loud, but they do save 50lbs in the rear. i guess is it worth the money for just a little more throaty sound, seems like alot of people think so

POST 27Original post

Quotes source post: 7653343

first off... aint gonna happen second, you can sell them (maybe small $ loss) but these things are poppular enough you can just sell them to another owner third - aint gonna happen, your gonna love it

POST 28Original post

+1. They are not too loud, they are just right. Do it, you will be very happy with the sound over stock.

POST 29Original post

Johnnyreb, Just have your local muffler shop mod your mufflers. Cost should be $100+/-, but a little more if the muffler shop removes/reinstalls the mufflers.

POST 30Original post

OK - this aint that old... and I just wanted to say I love my car today too!! damn fun drive in, WOT thru a twisty on ramp with a little tire squeal and rear end almost coming loose....this is not a 996, but its not a slug either ! I feell very fortunate to have ever owned a P-car and I hope to never be without one from here on out

I'm guessing it was moving and job related... but we're settled in now! Now I can concentrate on more serious things like finding some good sport seats and getting some Fister D mufflers...

POST 32Original post

Glad your getting settled in your new location. Definately get the FisterDs, you'll love the transformation they make. Would you use a Porsche sport seat or aftermarket, of which there are many to choose from? Did you get any chance to spring ski...

POST 33Original post

I'd really rather have a Porsche OEM seat, but I should probably look at some aftermarket options. I'm also considering having my seats recovered. My Porsche dealer recommended an independent shop in Denver that specializes in high-end car seats, and they can get OEM Porsche leather. I may go that route. I'll get the Fister D's for sure, I'm just waiting to get the mufflers. I should have them next week. I didn't get any spring skiing in this year, which is unfortunate. Luckily, we're only a few months away from the early opening. I hope we have a good ski year. BTW - I'm attending a big company meeting in a few weeks in Indianapolis. I'm not sure if your son will be in attendance, but I'll look for him.

POST 34Original post

Glad to hear it Fergus!! Are you going to have time to drive over to Mosport at the end of the month? (PCA race)

POST 35Original post

I thought I would be healthy and rode my bike to work today. The whole way I was thinking "I love my car, I should have driven my car, I love my car" I was thinking it instead of saying it because since i've had the car the bike has been on the shelf.

POST 37Original post

It was an Epic day either way. It's about time summer started.

Now now a little better on the practice. You need the throttle control and little slip sideways and snapping it back in still on it. I got a real funny one in the rain today While laboring over seeing 3 guys that looked like friends stuck in what sounded like a great idea to get fancy bikes and outfits to work their tails off to get up hills I once again day dreamed about how many avid exercise oriented guys ended their regiment after buying a 911. Oh well enough worrying about suffering to feel all healthy when croaking. Drive on!

POST 40Original post

high five on the epic day !! which of you is heading to Bremerton? (my 2 boys are so excited to go???? its their first time out, even though we are volunteering... they will have fun - opted to take the car - was thinking about taking the truck for the extra room)

POST 41Original post

unfortunately that would not be me.. :-( im going camping at the ape caves this weekend near Mt St Helens... will be nice weather though!

POST 42Original post

I'm heading over to the DE thing on Saturday. I can't wait to start to learn to drive this bad boy.

POST 43Original post

Blazingly hot on the east coast... in fact, I heard someone comment that it was "as hot as a half f----d fox in a forest fire"! Regardless, I enjoyed the nice cool AC of my 996!

+1 on a better price if you can get a muffler shop to weld your stock mufflers "similar" to FisterD's. I have some extra 3.4 cans if your interested. I thought of the same issue having the modded stock mufflers on and not saving any weight out back, so I did the next best thing and added some Fabspeed headers and 200 cel cats which saved quite a bit of weight and added just a little bit more sound, but no drone and definitely not obnoxiously loud since I have PSE hack cans to quell some of the noise that one would experience from headers and hi-flow cats. So far , so good.......
