Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Hi, I am asking on behalf of my brother who currently owns three Porsches, and wants to consolidate by replacing his classic 3.0 911 Targa and 928 S4 with an engaging 'all-rounder', to complement his Cayenne.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I am asking on behalf of my brother who currently owns three Porsches, and wants to consolidate by replacing his classic 3.0 911 Targa and 928 S4 with an engaging 'all-rounder', to complement his Cayenne. He has been debating between a 996 and 997, both in GT3 and Turbo form. He does like the wide rear arches of the turbo offer but searching the web we have read conflicting statements if the GT3 is a wide body or not, so I thought you guys would know the answer, his budget about £100,000 but ideally with minimal depreciation. thank you.

POST 2Original post

The GT3 body is based on the narrow body Carrera 4 shell, so yes, the C4S body has wider rear arches than the GT3.
