Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

They both run but are down on power and will need to be "looked at".
Leading evidence: 'Run but are down' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run but are down' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have two 2004 3.6 M96 motors that were built to run in my Koni Challange car. Both motors have some sort of "issue". They both run but are down on power and will need to be "looked at". One has about 5 hours on it and the other has less than an hour. The lower milage one was built with some additional niceties including LN Engineering IMS, replacment RMS and Musante Motorsports deep oil sump. Both motors are complete from intake to exhaust. Im asking $6000 for both or $3500 for the low milage one and $2500 for the other. Buyer is respossible for shipping. Dont hesitate to call with questions.
Thanks,
Tim

Hey Mark,
Not sure what happened aside from a bad vibration in both motors above 4000rpms. Im pretty sure both are sold just waiting for payment to arrive.
Thanks,
Tim Costa
Tim, I'm mainly interested as Mike and Tom at TPC are convinced that a strong motor won't fail as long as there have been regular oil changes. I've heard otherwise and just want to learn. Thanks!
I have been converting these cars for a long time, and since the parts i take off wont sell in this area, I have been destroying the engines and putting them in the dumpster, along with all the rest of the take off parts that go with the gas engine. i have 1 3.4 for sale on this site, if any one is interested in any of the parts let me know, or they go in the dumpster BUT !!!! I wont give them away
I am looking for a rebuildable core either 3.4 or 3.4, plus a good 996/997 tranny.
Anyone still have either or both for sale?
