Ended up running the cable through the trim panels along the side, which worked better than trying through the middle.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I swear i saw a question about this in here somewhere but i have a dashcam that also has a rear camera. I already have a backup camera connected to my head unit so can't use the license plate frame as a mount. "Temporarily" I had this. It would look through the rear window with the top up - but kind of not befitting a Porsche I finally got around to printing a bracket. It clamps to the wind deflector. i hope this meets picture specs.

POST 2Original post

The rear vision out of this car is horrendous so I'm looking for a rear view camera probably of the wireless variety. There are a number of posts on this site so just have to pull the trigger.

POST 4Original post

Going to have to revisit this. First, you know how the wind screen plexiglas rattles? Well, it rattles with a camera attached. And, the way the bracket on the camera is, I can't angle it downward, so it catches just the top of the rear window with the top up. Have to put on my thinking cap on.

POST 5Original post

I went through the same thing trying to figure out placement and wiring, especially with a convertible top. Ended up running the cable through the trim panels along the side, which worked better than trying through the middle. While I was choosing, this article helped a lot: https://www.insta360.com/blog/tips/how-to-choose-the-best-dash-cam-for-your-car.html — breaks down what to look for without being overcomplicated.
