Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I will test the wires for voltage tonight and come back with what I find.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Is that possible? Does the homelink button produce 12 volts? If so does anyone know the color of the hot and ground? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Check out Dongar. They made plug and play harnesses for this.

POST 3Original post

Unfortunately I have a base with no rain sensors. Was trying to tap into the homelink as it see there is no power when the car is off.

POST 4Original post

The Dongar will tap into the mirror wiring. You don't even have the auto dimming mirror? If not, just use a multimeter and start back probing that Homelink harness. It's pretty easy to find your power and ground that way and verifying what voltage you do have.

POST 5Original post

Thank you for helping me out. I will test the wires for voltage tonight and come back with what I find.

POST 6Original post

Simpler is to tap into the power for the lighted mirror in the sunvisors. The inner end clip for the sunvisor opens up (you have to look VERY carefully, then pry with a tiny knife blade) - behind that is a Torx screw you need to remove. When you do, you'll see two connectors - those feed switched 12V to the sunvisor vanity mirror lights. I'll leave the rest up to you.

POST 7Original post

Thanks for the reply’s! I ended up tapping the center dome light, which is a constant 12v and I connected my dongle that converts the voltage. Then I enabled my dash camera to power off after 10 min in park mode. Seems to be working with no issues! Thanks!
