Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Thanks, Geoff, I'll empty what's in the front (bags, small stools and some cleaning on the go bits lol), and look later, to see if I can see those on the bulkhead I appear to have missed.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

New to the forum and Porsche ownership. Ive just bought a wind deflector with the storage bag from eBay. Would there have been a strap to hold it in place in the boot?

POST 2Original post

I didn't have one, or see anywhere to put one. The bag, has pop clips on that look like they pop to something, but Im not sure what. Mine just sits at the bottom of it

POST 3Original post

I just leave mine in the bottom of the wheel well. Mark you are correct the two poppers are to fit it upright against bulkhead. The poppers should fit on buttons located in the middle recess in front of the battery

POST 4Original post

I think it’s supposed to fit in the storage area with sliding doors at about shoulder level behind the seats. Most of the time I leave mine in place because the car is not in everyday use and when I can I drive with the top is down. If I take it out I put it in its bag in the rear boot. My bag isn’t an original and is too bulky to fit in the correct place.

POST 5Original post

There's no strap for the storage bag in the front luggage compartment in my C4 cabriolet.

POST 6Original post

I should add that I’m referring to my 987 Boxster S

POST 7Original post

Hmm, my 996 and storage bag don't have any mutual fastenings and it always struck me what a cumbersome item it is when folded down to the point of taking up a lot of storage space. Mine deflector stays in place all the time unless we're on a winter journey needing maximum luggage space ie the shelf over the engine bay and there's going to be 200% no prospect of roof-down time. The deflector bag lives with the hardtop.

POST 8Original post

Thanks, Geoff, I'll empty what's in the front (bags, small stools and some cleaning on the go bits lol), and look later, to see if I can see those on the bulkhead I appear to have missed. tbh, it's not doing any harm at the bottom, but it may give me some more much needed depth that i require on occasion. Ta

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the replys There is a Velcro tab across the middle and it’s long enough to attach on the bulk head, it’s holding it in place nicely while parked, not sure if it will say there while driving. Didnt find any popppers.

POST 10Original post

Now that the cooler weather is here and the chances of top down driving are less I removed my central plexiglass wind deflector on my 987.2 Boxster to reduce fogging of the rear window. I have the fabric bag & there are no visible fasteners or Velcro on it. It does not fit in the sliding door cupboard between the seats- is there a place it’s supposed to be stowed whilst daylight saving is with us?

POST 11Original post

Yes in the front boot (frunk) flat against the bulkhead where it's supposed to Velcro stuck. You can always buy some Velcro strips if they've come off

POST 12Original post

Leave mine in place all the time. just folded down. `Though at night it acts as a good anti glare filter for the RVM if there’s bright lights behind you!
