In the past, Porsche has used radios and CD changers from Becker, My guess is, they still do.

I should have ordered 'XSTASY ' with a CD changer. Now I would like to add one. Aside from asking my dealer to add one are there any other interesting alturnatives? eg. 4 or 8 CD changers? & if so would they match in the assigned space? I assume the Porsche changer is made by Bose? Please advise. JohnD.

Bose only makes the speakers and likely the amplifiers. Bose doesn't make CD Changers. The difficulty here is that it probably requires the MOST interface and is a custom part. Here's an idea...there have got to be some present or future Cayman owners who don't need the CD Changer they got with their car. You might see if anyone wants to sell theirs. For example, I would be ordering one of the Packages that includes the CD Changer. If I later got an iPod interface, I might not need the CD Changer.

In the past, Porsche has used radios and CD changers from Becker, My guess is, they still do. They work great, but the cartridges are not compatible with any others. The CD changer cartridges used in my Bimmer and Honda Insight are actually interchangeable. There's quite a few places that sell Becker CD changers for less than the dealer, and they're pretty much plug and play from what I'm told by people who have added them. In the PCA magazine Panorama and in Excellence magazine, there's usually ads for places selling Becker changers and in-dash radios, too. brad Edited by - beez on 01/21/2006 10:08:51 AM

You need the CDC-4 changer. ITs made by Becker but only available from your Porsche dealer I think the most bus fibre optic link is already routed to the front trunk, you just install the brakets and the changer. Then pop along to the delaer and they reprogramme the car to acknowledge a CD changer install
