The one we used can be moved from car to car but provides lower quality, as I understand it.
Leading evidence: 'Use can be moved' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust frequency a bit' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. We used our Monster iTrip successfully on a very long road trip in our MDX last year.

Maybe I should try adjusting the frequency a bit to something closer to some null frequency.

If you have to dial a number from the integrated phone, you do need to use the keypad in the center column and that can be a bit distracting.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

read the description, looks like even in this price range you can get ipod connectivity... /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/tounge_smile.gif
Just to clear this up for me, if i run something from the cd changer cable to connect with my i pod back up towards the dash I can have my i pod hard wired into the stereo? Or is that not even possible?
It might be. With my Alpine you can buy some gismo for $150 that will let you do just that. I asked my dealer that question and he shifted into a discussion of his success with an FM modulator (transmitter...Itrip) that was made by , I think Monster cables, that powers up through a cig. lighter. I would guess that that means no on the gismo in the cd outlet. I won't restuntil I do more research in the direction of Bose. I have a hard time believing that Bose had not heard of Ipod a few years back and made room for a direct connection.

Latest (1/18) update on the Denison ICE-Link. Geez, I went to the Becker board. Some of the responses from Becker seem... how can we phrase this... very Teutonic. 'We know what you need, and when we're good and ready, we'll give it to you.'
Anyway, the folks at Denison seem to sense this is a business opportunity, not a challenge to their technical prowess. Here's the update:
Well, latest update is that we got a solution for the MOST kit in the new Porsche and Mercedes! We still have to put the last touches on the code and get the thing made so I'm estimating about a month to a month and a half at this point. Are you on the waiting list yet?
Best Regards

Tried the iTrip... it was more like iCrap in the Dallas metroplex... unacceptable! I am temporarily buring CDs using iTunes... can't wait for a permanent solution.
They were showing the kit at MacWorld. It looked pretty good but I don't know how much was smoke and mirrors.
Here's what the sales card says:
For "Mercedes Benz and Porsche vehicles featuring the MOST fiber optic system"
Text Display! See artist, song and iPod menu on selected CD text capable radios
Direct Connectivity to the factory radio
Adjustable iPod charging feature
Unlimted playlist selection.
Supported iPods: Most 3G, 4G, Photo/Color, mini and nano iPods. [Video was not mentioned. -hsjb]

My Itrip is touch and go depending on what is around me. Maybe I should try adjusting the frequency a bit to something closer to some null frequency. I thought about what my Cayman salesman said...he plugs his FM modulator (Itrip related device) into the 12 volt outlet. That means that someone came up with one that is 12 volt powered...as in a powered transmission from the Ipod transmission device...as in clear and powerful.
It might be worth looking into.
Cheers
I have heard that the Monster one is better than the Apple iTrip, but I really do not like wires hanging out of the cig lighter. I guess at this point it is best to just wait and see what comes out soon to do it right the first time. i trip will have to do till then.
Regards,
We used our Monster iTrip successfully on a very long road trip in our MDX last year. Our iTrip can tune to any frequency which is critical. If you stay in the same area or have your passenger search for 'empty' frequencies (doesn't have to completely quiet) while driving it works reasonably well and charges the iPod at the same time.

I did my install with a hardwired fm modulator for now, plan to switch to fiber optic when the system
comes out. Both Belkin and monster make a cig adapter with a regular fm modulator built in. you get
perfect reception no matter what when you hardwire the fm modulator. what you do is take the fm
antenna in from the head unit and use that.
here is the most basis idea behind a wired fm modulator

BTW, Craig - NYC's FM modulation is better than what we used. The one we used can be moved from car to car but provides lower quality, as I understand it.
Ruby
that is just a dension cradle, it has a standard plug on the bottom and it charges the ipod at the same time, there is an adapter included for other smaller ipods like the mini and nano.
Graig, is that IPOD receptacle bolted in the dash or just glued? Another question, how do you like the GSM phone option? My dealer said here in South America that option would not work...althought I cant see why....just a sim card swapt correct?...third but not least, how about compliment on the exterior color (seal grey?) getting many? ... mine is also coming in seal....cheers pal... Cocodrilo:
The phone implementation works well. My phone book is saved on my Sim card from my Nokia 6820. I can move the card easilty between the Nokia and the PCM and use the phone book from the multi-funstion steering wheel. I am told my voice is very clear from the car phone and the audio on received call is great. Very easy to use the phone from the steering wheel.
If you have to dial a number from the integrated phone, you do need to use the keypad in the center column and that can be a bit distracting.
It is unfortunate that there is no voice recognition in the car.

Inspired by your success last month, I wrote Jesse for an update and got the following:
<p class="MsoNormal">Yes the rumors are true, we did recently get our kit working with the Porsche MOST system. We are estimating it will be about one and a half months before this kit is ready for sale. We have not yet established pricing but it will most likely be slightly under $600. If you would like me to add you to the waiting list for this product, please let me know.<o

$600! Must be planning on getting their development costs back on the first few units. I'm sure it is an expensive undertaking but It doesn't seem worth it to me.
$50 cheaper than the CD changer the way I look at it and 50 times more music, so even though its three times the price of the one I bought for my RX-8 before I traded it in, I still think its worth it.
G.
Im using the Monster FM modulator and am happy with it. I do get some static from it when the transmiter comes near my cell phone, but my cell phone also interferes with the radio when not using the Monster. From speaking with others, everyone tells me that the Monster works much better than the iTrip.
