Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Pelican Parts: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 1999 911 C2 was stalling after a warm restart and the engine light was coming on. Since I was taking it to the shop the next day, I had my guy look at it. My mechanic said it was throwing a Mass Air Flow error but that that that error was pretty generic(could be a vacuum issue as well) so was hesitant to replace it at 500.00 bucks but when it happened to him he replaced it anyway but it still occurred. He then pulled the idle air control valve and said that it was badly carboned up. He cleaned and replaced it and it solved the problem. He warned that this could reoccur since it was a 'cleaned' part rather than new, but the replacement is easy. I just figured I would post in case others had the same symptoms.
