Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

front, that's probably the easiest of the mods to do.
Leading evidence: 'easiest of the mods' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'easiest of the mods' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace fenders, bumper' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, im new to this forum and i want to convert my
987.1
to .2 and i want to know if someone has done it and if you only need to replace the fenders, bumper, and
headlights
.
Regards
Cosmetics: I think all four fenders, both bumpers,
headlights
and taillights changed. That ignores all the supporting structures (specifically the bumper supports) which may or may not be different.
Engine: Seriously, just buy a
987.2
!
If all you want is a
987.2
front, that's probably the easiest of the mods to do. However, it's also the least distinctive, as most people don't even notice the difference in the
headlights
and the intake spars with lights. The rear bumper and
LEDs
are more noticeable, and of course the engine differences are substantial.
In the end, I must agree with the others--I bet it's much cheaper to actually buy a
987.2
.
What you say is true, maybe its not such a big diference. As I stated before, I crashed the car, and I thought on making the facelift, since i already have to buy the complete front.
BTW Let me tell you your car looks gorgeous as is, and if possible i would like to see your avatar in a bigger picture.
Why not go with something completely different like a TechArt or NR Auto
GT3
front end instead?
The front bumper I think fits with minimal mods and the back needs some tweaking for the lights to fit properly, but other than that it's just bumpers I believe that are needed.
I have a friend how has been asking me about doing the same thing to his
porsche
,,, the front Bumper has allready been sprayed and has started to wear.
What did you decide to do in the end??
MSR1 (or anyone who has done this conversion), can you update on this project? Have you installed the
987.2
bumper to
987.1
? Pics would be fantastic. I too have a front end collision and considering this bumper switch. Its very difficult to find a
987.1
front bumper intact.
Was done by Tom back in 2011, but he only did the rear..
here's the thread

I think the quickest way is by the tail lights... the
987.2
has the clear backup light portion on the bottom of the housing as opposed to the top like the
987.1
. From the front you can tell most readily from the
LED
light strip and the daytime driving lights.
please share what parts were needed to do the conversion, i am particularly interested how you installed the
headlights
with different type of connectors , did you have to reprogram with
piwis
any idea if turning off
headlights
cornering can be done with
durametric pro
?
i will be fitting a 991 fog lamps and
headlights
, any idea if i will encounter any problem
did you install new brackets with
headlights
? are the
headlights
plug
and play with second gen? or did you tap new connectors
