Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have recently purchased a coupe of parts for my (never ending) engine rebuild through a particular ebay seller at reasonable prices (for Porsche stuff) each time it came with Parts Society logos and website info. My experience is they seem to package stuff incredibly well, and for giggles I thought I would check out their website. Having looked it seems like this would be a good resource for us 996 folks (and the others). https://www.partssociety.com/

POST 2Original post

Very interesting. I think they are the same as "qualityporscheparts" on eBay! See this same engine listing on both sites. https://www.ebay.com/itm/02-Carrera-...dZ5~UK&vxp=mtr I have bought from them and I was also impressed by the quality of their parts. Their packaging is unbelievably good, maybe even better than new parts! I will definitely recommend them to others. I have bought many parts but not a used engine though so I would be very curious about their engines.

POST 3Original post

One great thing about it is they part out the whole car so you can actually see how the car looks like (usually crashed). It gives you more confidence when buying an engine because you could see the car was running (and crashed) as opposed to the engine blew up on its own.

Affirmative. I checked on the 3.6 996 motor and it has a video of it running too.

POST 5Original post

I've bought things from them before can vouch for their service internationally. Postage wasn't cheap but the parts arrived in under a week. Guess I got what I paid for in a good way

POST 6Original post

Nice find, Monty. Their website has even more photos than their ebay listings.

POST 7Original post

Quotes source post: 14596069

Interestingly enough, I just bought a 3.6 m96 engine from them. It's being installed Monday. The crate was in great shape and price was right. Engine was a Porsche reman engine from 2005 with 997 IMS bearing. Only 13,000 miles on it.

POST 8Original post

I have a good feeling and please let us know how it goes.

POST 9Original post

Will do! Also putting new rads and AOS while I'm at it.

POST 10Original post

Bougt a bunch of stuff from them and was impressed each time. very good seller

POST 11Original post

I just got my car back yesterday with a new engine sourced from qualityporscheparts and so far so good. CS Motorsports near Milwaukee, WI did the work. Can't say enough good things about this shop. They installed the engine, new AOS and replaced both front radiators for $1,800, which IMO is very reasonable. Not to mention fitting me in with short notice. Engine arrived in well put together crate and undamaged. $8k for a Porsche reman engine with 13,000 miles on it. Engine runs and sounds much better than old engine. Seems to pull harder too.

POST 14Original post

I love these guys and see that there website prices seems to be slightly less as compared to their ebay prices. Just bought another small piece of carbon fiber for my car....the little bat wing at the bottom of the console.

POST 15Original post

POST 16Original post

Very encouraging to have such endorsements for used P-car parts. Too many bad stories from other flaky vendors. Hopefully Parts Society prospers with the support of the Rennlist community

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 14610087

That's cheaper than a PDK transmission https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...l#post14600695

POST 18Original post

OMG! So in 2009 you trade the inevitable IMS failure for PDK failure?! So much for direct injection, there's no end to this! Yeah, I am sure this won't be the last time Porsche get their hands in my wallet, but it will be a while hopefully. For my next I'm tempted to get a PDK. Also because my wife wants to drive it. I tried teaching her how to drive a manual years ago and she was incredibly bad.

POST 19Original post

I bought a 3.4 for 6500 from them, did a external tune up of all of the usual suspect parts, and its on to its second owner from me, still runs great.

POST 20Original post

Back to Parts Society: they supplied a bunch of parts for the heated seat retrofit I did in my Turbo a couple weeks ago. Also a black cupholder & center vent to match the carbon better. I'm very happy with the parts, price, and packaging.

POST 21Original post

Sorry to bump this old thread, but has anyone had any recent dealings with these guys? I ordered parts in Dec, and after a *lot* of emails I finally got a reply in Feb, saying I needed to pay shipping (I'm in Australia), which I did. I've now heard nothing, and get no reply to emails, website messages, eBay messages, SMS etc.

POST 22Original post

Quotes source post: 15720167

Hi Bibbs, I've bought things from them before (i'm in Australia as well) paid a lot for shipping but arrived within a week. Did they send you any tracking info? Not unusual for items to take over a month to arrive in some cases.

POST 23Original post

Quotes source post: 15720247

Hey Dan, good to hear that you got something in Australia (Melbourne?). I ordered though the "Parts Society" website. The last message I got was "Good morning Ben, yes. We are adding the tracking number to your order details for you." Which they didn't (or at least, I can't find it - it still states "you’ll receive an email when your order is on its way."), and that was over a month ago. I've probably tried a dozen emails since with no reply. It's a shame as they have a lot of other bits I'd want.

POST 24Original post

Quotes source post: 15720300

Yep in Melbourne came within a week which was awesome but the postage was expensive. I haven't bought anything through their website I've only ever emailed them. Did you pay via PayPal? I have a feeling being as big as they are they have missed something rather than trying to to rip you off. Id get paypal involved if that's how you paid. What email address of theirs have you been using?

POST 25Original post

I've used parts society a few times and the parts were always packed well and shipped fast.

POST 26Original post

Same here. Ive bought lots of parts from them and always had positive experiences.

POST 27Original post

Quotes source post: 15720728

Thanks sb3 & cds72911. Glad to hear I'm the only one of late. PayPal are not playing as I'd put a case in when I first didn't hear back, and cancelled it once I'd paid the extra. They don't allow 2nd cases. So my bank are stepping in (via credit card). I'm emailing [email removed] (from Yahoo, Gmail & Hotmail accounts). I've had a few replies, but nothing in a month. Feb 5th - Email requesting international shipping (I paid and emailed the same day). Feb 20th - Reply to one of my emails saying it's being shipped, and they'll get the tracking number to me.

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 15729098

That's the same email address I've got in my mailbox, although they didn't respond to my last message back in March 2018 asking for a paypal invoice for me to buy something - so they lost the sale. Don't think i'd trust them now after your experience - hopefully they make it right asap. Might be worth noting for international buyers to go via their ebay store rather than their website...

POST 29Original post

Quotes source post: 15729112

I did read that their communication was poor, but I didn't expect this. I'm just hoping it's not something more serious .. which can be why people drop off the radar. Thought I'd post to see if others are getting responses from them of late.

POST 30Original post

Another necro-bump for this thread. I purchased the VIP membership on Saturday, expected to make several purchases but their shopping cart is messed up. They didn't have any trouble taking my 100.00 fee but then went radio silent. it's now Thursday with no communication. Their Facebook page hasn't been updated since 2019. Ugh.

POST 31Original post

Quotes source post: 17469641

For a few weeks their eBay store had a note saying they were out until mid-June. I just checked and they don't have any listings going and that notice is gone. Hope they didn't go bust and are just taking a break of some kind.

POST 32Original post

Quotes source post: 17469780

Me too! Their site looks awesome. If they're down they should have turned off their VIP membership program. @Idaho911 do you have the link to their eBay store? Google search is coming up blank.

POST 33Original post

Quotes source post: 17469803

https://www.ebay.com/usr/qualityporscheparts They're known as "Quality Porsche Parts" on eBay. What did/do you get for being a VIP member?

POST 35Original post

The offer is this: – 2 FREE Porsche parts of your choice every month ($100 and under for each) – FREE, Insured, Fast Shipping. Orders placed by 5pm MST ship same day. Discounted Worldwide Shipping – Extended Warranty on all our parts – Exclusive members only pricing , including our "make an offer" feature. – Live customer support (Chat, Phone & Email) – New Vehicles posted as soon as they arrive for VIPs before being parted out. – Front-of-the-line access on “New Product Release” days – Exclusive access to monthly members-only savings events – Order priority — In case of a stock out, our VIP orders are filled first!! It's a good deal. Maybe too good if I can't buy anything. @Dharn55 The website is definitely up but nobody's home.

POST 36Original post

Crazy. I have bought stuff from them via their eBay store and never noticed this. The two parts a month would be really nice.

POST 37Original post

POST 39Original post

POST 40Original post

Just a quick update. They have still not contacted me nor replied to any of my attempts to reach them. At this point it would be safe to assume that they're are out of business. If you've been able to buy anything within the last month let me know how you got in touch with them so I can either get my money back, or fix my problem. Buyer Beware. Michael

Id be curious to know if you get a shopping cart error like I get. See if you can check out. Thats when it errors out.

POST 47Original post

I bought a part from their ebay store for my cayenne maybe two weeks ago and it shipped promptly and arrived as expected. Not sure what the issue is now. I have bought a bunch of parts from them, so I'd give them the benefit of the doubt for now, but they should refund your vip membership for the month.

POST 48Original post

It is a bummer, I bought a part a month ago and it was seamless and the part arrived immediately.

POST 49Original post

I have bought several parts from them over the years and found them to be a good source. Sent in a question of some parts last week and haven't heard back. It will be a shame if they are gone.

POST 50Original post

Agreed. Ive heard nothing but good things about them. Whatever happened, happened recently.

Indeed. Not a peep from them. No word from PayPal either.

POST 53Original post

Quotes source post: 17493765

just got my refund from PayPal. Looks like this place bit the dust. Sucks.

POST 54Original post

Just an update. Something fishy is going on with them. They FINALLY reached out only to let me know my VIP payment was declined for the month of July. Uh.. ya think? I would steer clear of this seller.

POST 55Original post

Quotes source post: 17479974

Ugh, I sent a request and hadn't heard back about a bumper part. Several weeks ago I bought some exhaust hardware on your recommendation and was very pleased with the whole transaction. I was hoping I had found a source I could use again.

POST 56Original post

Hey all just an update on this topic. Their website was still up and the cart appears to be working so I took a chance and placed a small order last week for a couple of headlight auto-leveling sensors. I received them a few days later with no issue! So I would say whatever issue they had earlier appears to be resolved. I would still be cautious with the whole "VIP" program as I'm still not convinced they're at 100%.

POST 57Original post

Quotes source post: 17596908

This is great news. Thanks for the update!

POST 58Original post

They seem to be screwy again. Not sure what's going on as they used to be so good. I placed 2 orders in October- neither shipped. After 3 weeks they refunded 1 of my orders but not the other. Now just got an email from Mike Burton- and he just told me that they only take doge crypto for payment. Something is screwy for sure. I loved these guys.

POST 59Original post

Quotes source post: 17763870

That sounds totally reputable. /s To me that sounds like someone is either doing, or are trying to do, something illegal.

POST 60Original post

Quotes source post: 17763993

Agreed. Only taking crypto is a red flag for me. Sad.

POST 62Original post

I feel lucky. I purchased something off their website in mid October and received the part a week later.

POST 63Original post

Quotes source post: 17764358

Weird- my order was Oct. 1. Maybe they have a bad employee that is screwing things up. Hopefully they get their act together again.

POST 64Original post

I see they have a [email removed] email listed on their website, has anyone tried that?

POST 65Original post

Quotes source post: 17767054

Yup. They dont respond for a long time, and thats the address I was told to use bitcoin from. They still haven't refunded my last order from Oct. 7th, nor has it shipped. But they told me that they would refund it. Great. So do it. Yes, claim has been made with my credit card.

POST 66Original post

Just got refund for my order. Was told that they were happy to accept crypto now. Great. At least someone responded after weeks...

POST 67Original post

Quotes source post: 17790921

Hilarious. Glad you got your refund. My opinion of a company only accepting crypto is that, in the absolute best case scenario, they are only fraudulently avoiding sales, payroll, and other business taxes, but other options include scamming people with no recourse, selling stolen goods, etc.

POST 68Original post

Has anyone had any luck getting their orders filled via the website and Doge coin? They have 2 parts ($1300) that I need for my 4CS. I want to place the order but worry for obvious reasons. Thanks, Joel

POST 70Original post

Thanks mffarrell , that is a shame. I went as far as creating an account on that website to send Doge but it got dicey fast when it wants a picture of my drivers license. Thanks again, Joel

POST 71Original post

Came looking for this thread to see if anyone had any updates- Last post shows its more of the same. Copy of your drivers license. Yea right. Such a shame. Oh well....

POST 72Original post

I was excited to find the parts I need at a great price but Dogecoin only? Really? That cant be good. Staying far away

POST 73Original post

I bought my used CTT motor from this eBay seller and long story short while the motor is great they are horrible with communication.

POST 74Original post

Quotes source post: 18207402

But when did you buy it? Before or after they switched to Dodgecoin only and requiring a copy of your driver's license?

POST 75Original post

I'd be wary of ANY vendor only taking cyrpto. Especially Dodgycoin. That sucks. I checked them out recently and their inventory hasn't changed much.

POST 76Original post

I just tried to buy a part from Parts Society and Mike Burton from Parts Society sent me some very rude emails. I will never buy from them! I purchased a part from Parts Society online (or so I thought after receiving an email congratulating me on my purchase and saying Id get another email when it shipped). It didnt come after 3 weeks so I emailed to follow up: me: It has been 3 weeks since I ordered this, and I still have not received it. Can I have an update on the status? Mike from PS: Good afternoon, you have not paid. Did you expect to not pay and for us to ship? Or did you just not know you didn't pay? We can ship the same business day when paid by 2pm MST. Thanks! me: I thought I had paid. When I was checking out, it offered for me to pay with points from my credit card and I selected that option. Below it indicated to me that I had paid. So yes, I thought that I had paid. It sounds like you are saying that I have not paid, correct? If so, then Ill have to check into it to make sure that Im not charged twice because it looked like I paid on my end when I completed the transaction, or so I thought, several weeks ago. mike: refer to our above response to find the answer to your redundant question. Thanks! What a jerk! obviously I thought I paid, and so if whatever weirdo way they suggest paying did not work, then he could have politely said that payment did not come through and that Id need to fix that. Also, if payment didnt work, why didnt they email me in the 3 weeks to let me know? And why did I get an email thanking me for my purchase if no purchase was made?! This guy is shady and a poor businessman. I will never buy anything from Parts Society!!!

I just tried to buy a part from Parts Society and Mike Burton from Parts Society sent me some very rude emails. I will never buy from them! They might want to put someone else in charge of answering customer questions.

I just wanted to update this thread. I had bought from them for years. Yea, mike is not a great communicator, but last year or so they had gotten really bad. I decided to give them a try again as they are no longer only accepting bit coin. Anyway- the sale went flawless. I bought a radiator assembly at a good price. IT shipped the next day and arrived a few days later. Maybe they are back on-target? who knows if it was a fluke. Just thought id share. -A

Yes, I had a really weird and overall unpleasant experience trying to deal with him and the whole thing. In the end it was just too fishy, Left a bad aftertaste... I guess it was a spidey sense thing. And that from someone who is not completely risk averse. (I bought my last car long distance from a guy who was representing a guy who didn't answer phone calls and the car was not in his name because he bought it from a friend who was a" mechanic" who didn't have the car in his name because he still had it in his wife's name who was a Mexican national... And so on. But that's another story. The paperwork showed up and subsequently the car so it worked out. I'm happy. There's more to it but I won't bore you. Anyway I don't recommend it.)

Did you order direct from their site, or somewhere else?

I ordered directly from their website. And only if they would accept a regular credit card- cuz the credit card could reverse the charges if it got ugly. They do have good prices and they had exactly what I needed- a complete radiator assembly with shroud/fan etc. for a cayman. for about $190 bucks shipped. Rebuilding another crashed car.

Totally not surprising, small businesses got totally beat on during Covid, I swear the average customers had gone feral. Now post covid, with business picking up in a lot of areas, everybody is busy again and customers don't understand the change in support issues. I have several friends that have closed up shop in niche market auto and gun businesses because they just couldn't take the crap the customers were dishing out anymore. Several have gone wholesale only because basically about 50% of your customer interactions are horrible no matter what you do.

I ordered a part from them a few days ago and I'm getting suspicious they are no longer operational. They still have a banner on their site saying "10% off Cyber Monday", which of course was quite some time ago. They seem to have taken my money without issue, but nothing has changed with the order despite their site saying parts ship same day if paid before 2PM - that was 3 days ago. I think this business is non-operational, their phone number constantly reports "all circuits are busy" on multiple phones/landlines over the last few days, which likely means they have no phones in service. Thankfully paid with CC using generated virtual number so will be easy to reverse the charge, which I'm going to do today. if they can't reply to an email to even say they are busy within 3 days, then even if they are in business, they don't deserve mine. Customer service should still be a thing and I've been courteous in my emails, so it's not like I'm some crazy toxic buyer. I understand that small businesses only have so many resources, but at the same point, if you cannot provide at least a basic level of customer service then you have no business being in business.

I had a similar experience a few weeks back. Bought a part from them, was charged, never got shipping information. Emailed about shipping info and threatened to contest/reverse the charge, got crickets. Wasn't until after I contested and reversed the CC charge that they got back to me with something like "we will get you shipping info soon"... I got my money back and have moved on.

Another person who wish that they saw this thread before having to call and dispute a charge....I tried their phone number : [phone removed] (per their webpage call or text) and it appears to be disconnected...dont just walk away...RUNNNNNNNN

I bought several things from them with no issues recently as I'm working on getting all the parts I need for a manual swap on my 996. I even had one shipment with a bad address and they worked me on getting them reshipped to me. Mike can take a few days to answer emails but I think he is a one-man shop.

POST 89Original post

I have bought from them in the past and thought it was a great price and parts were good. I ordered something on Feb 8th, and experienced the same as others, automated order received email then never heard anything. I disputed the charge after about 10 days. I received an email from them today, we tried to check on this but looks like the was a chargeback, thanks Maybe theyre still in business, but I would definitely ask about an item and get a response before ordering anything.
