Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

btw, roof going up and down using the remote control - is that standard function?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am unable to lock my door either with the remote or key, the horn bibs to let me know. I have checked everything is shut correctly. Also if I keep pressing the remote when I open the doors the roof goes up or down depending on last position. My car is a 2000 cerrara 4 convertible. Any help would be appreciated

POST 2Original post

Hi there, i has a similar issue but for no reason it went away so sorry not very helpful there. It would be nice to know what did happen. btw, roof going up and down using the remote control - is that standard function? Mine doesn’t seem to do that. Nozer

POST 3Original post

If it locks, and then immediately unlocks with a beep from the alarm horn, then it is likely to be a microswitch within the door lock assembly. It is common for the microswitch which senses if the door is open or closed to break. The alarm thinks the door is still open, and so it won't allow the door to lock. As a temporary measure, use the emergency locking procedure. Either press the lock button on the fob 3 times, or turn the key to the lock position and back 3 times.
