Hi, I plan to change my brake kit on my
cayman s
.
Here my question:
Is 355mm
rotor
better or 380mm
rotor
better? Need advise
Tq
I have to ask what you mean by better? What sort of use does your car see? Only street, or track and street?
Both are excellent kits, we sell them, how ever they are overkill for the street unless you are after cosmetics.
Feel free to drop us an email or PM and we can discuss your needs and see if we can help out!
Cheers
I plan to put 380mm but is that oversize ? I use for street n hills ride...
Well, you can never have too much brake, but it is likely overkill. That said we can easily have a different idea of what overkill is. To put it into perspective, we track our
Cayman S
with Girodisc rotors front and rear,
Pagid pads
and
Motul
fluid and never have any brake issues. This car sees a lot of non stop action at the track as we let different drivers take it for laps. However the pads we run on track are not really street freindly.
We also don't recommend a front only kit as that can upset the brake bias in the car. A
Brembo
355 kit (4 or 6 piston) matched with a 345 kit in the rear will provide all of the braking you could ever need on the street, or track for that matter.
Brembo
ships the kits with a "sport" type pad compound that is nice and quiet but can take some abuse. It will work great on the street and even agressive canyon driving and last a long time. The
Brembo
kits ship complete with everything you need and combine excellent performance with great looks. For serious track work we would supply an additional set of
Pagid pads
.
The kits are available in Black, Red or Silver, but stepping up to the 380 front option (or 355 6 piston) brings Yellow calipers front and rear as an option.
We have worked very closely with
Brembo
this year and have even put a couple of custom kits together for early
911
race cars. We are currently getting them to help us with our
Rolex
24hr brake needs as well.
We keep the
Pagid pads
that fit most popular
Brembo
kits in our inventory and we also stock
Motul
RBF600,
Castrol
SRF and shortly we will have Prospeed 683 fluid in stock as well.
Let me know if we can help!
Cheers

Along with a GT3 MC the 380/345 setup works really well on the street or track. Clearance with 18" Apex wheels is no problem.
