Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suspected cause

I'm sure its probably the bulb unless the oil sensor has gone, which is less likely.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, The oil light above the alternator warning light used to illuminate on my 3.2 at ignition. Now it doesn't although the car starts and runs fine and cool even in this weather. The seatbelt warning lights never worked. Does this mean the bulbs have blown (and how do you get at them?) or have I got a bigger problem? Migration info. Legacy thread was 6999

POST 2Original post

Hi there Think you'll find the bulbs have blown on the oil light. Best way is to find the oil pressure sensor, remove the wires and bridge them, thus making a connection. If the light comes on, it;s not the bulb. If the light stays off, its the bulb. I'm sure its probably the bulb unless the oil sensor has gone, which is less likely. But then, I could be talking complete shi*te. Andy Migration info. Legacy thread was 7013

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Andy Thanks for that - sounds like good logic to me! I'm going to wait till the weather eases up as it seems a shame to spend the day getting oily, and even in our new climate the oil temp doesn't rise over about 8 o'clock on the guage. Do you just gently lever out the guage to get at the back? Cheers - Adam Migration info. Legacy thread was 7059
