Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've read a bit about some owners who've gone the Home Depot route to match touch up paint, but I'm not sure of the application process - do I use an airbrush?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

My 2011 Boxster has the standard Sand Beige interior (which I unquestionably wanted and still very much enjoy), and of course the beige paint is chipped in several places (light switch surround, the plastic bits under both door armrests, etc.). Is there a good resource for addressing this? I already have my door cards off, and I've taken off most of the peeling beige paint from one of them. My intent is to refinish them in the standard gunmetal/titanium trim color over the winter. I've read a bit about some owners who've gone the Home Depot route to match touch up paint, but I'm not sure of the application process - do I use an airbrush? do I manually apply with a small brush? I haven't attempted this kind of thing before. And what is that gunmetal/titanium interior trim color called? Is it common enough to purchase in a rattle can? I'm also interested in refinishing the center console in the exterior color, but I don't know what to do with the parking brake handle/boot and the ashtray & armrest doors. Can these be refinished, too? I know - lots of questions, but I'd like to do the best that I can.

This stuff is awesome for touchups on the soft-touch Sand Beige. I like the idea of removing as much soft-touch as possible. Go with the exterior color idea. Color Flex Finish Quick Pick | Magic Mender www.leatherrepairkits.com
