Moving from a 2006 Cayman S M97 3.4L to a 4.0L I thought I would put a bit of research into the 2005- 2008 Boxster S/ Cayman S / 911 /S M97 cams available. First of all 2.7L/3.4L/3.6L and 3.8L engines use the same exhaust camshafts. The 3.4L and the 3.8L use the same intake camshafts. The 3.6L uses a similar intake cam, but it has less duration at the start of the valve opening, on the base profile. The 3.4/3.6 and the 3.8 use similar variocam plus profiles. Are there other cams I should be considering?
