Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Thats not the end of the world.....no need to replace unless the whole rotor(s) have a rig on them.....I would pull the caliper off and get the stone out of it!
Leading evidence: 'Run years without a hitch' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace unless the whole rotor(s) have a rig' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
at 68 bux for the set, I doubt they use uni-directional rotors.

Maybe the rotor fits, but the pads in kit don't work, you use original/OEM/aftermarket-brand replacement pads?
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I reversed the rotors and it's all good now folks.
Youre referring to the groove I assume. Ive seen dimples on rotors that are used to judge rotor wear. I wonder if this is an intentional groove to monitor wear???
Also the grove wont affect performance. I would pull the pads and make sure nothing is stuck in here and just keep using the rotor if they r within spec. The rotor will wear to the grove eventually. No need to waste $ if they still have the correct overall thickness.
Thats not the end of the world.....no need to replace unless the whole rotor(s) have a rig on them.....I would pull the caliper off and get the stone out of it! It's an easy job to do!
Happened on my VW, the head of a sheetrock screw somehow got between the pad & rotor. Plucked the screw out, put it back together, ran for years without a hitch.
Amazon today $248 for a pair. Pad looks wrong size, AZ does not say they will fit. Maybe the rotor fits, but the pads in kit don't work, you use original/OEM/aftermarket-brand replacement pads?
YMMV
I beg to differ. I have the set. And the pads fit. You can't tell a book by its cover
Pads perfect fit I just got lucky.
So folks. The rotors and pads fit for the set I posted.
That kit is the correct for front C2 C4 996. Pads and rotors. Looks like you lucked out on a great deal.
Looks like on the other thread Skip pointed out the reversed rotors.
Not necessarily, you can't go by the drill pattern alone, you MUST look at the vane slant... OEM Porsche/Brembo drilled rotors are drilled on the same slant as the vanes, Stop Tech and Power Stop and maybe others, have a drill pattern slanted one way and the internal vanes slanted in the opposite direction...
If they are slanted they for sure should have a left and a right...
Except for the new Brembo PVT+ patterns, they have a sort of "pillars" instead of vanes in more of an "X" pattern that has many advantages, one is which it can be used on either side...but of course, higher tech means higher cost...
Its even different on slotted directional rotors. I have sebro fronts and zimmermen rears and the slots run in opposite directiions but the vanes spin the same way
I reversed the rotors and it's all good now folks.
I costarted the manufacturer and they informed me they failed to put a sticker on the rotor aaying right or left front.
My fault when I installed.
All is well and the pads fit 100%.
So the.68 deal was perfect
