Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anyone experienced problems with the CDR22 CD player + Bose Sound systems (2003 C4s) my unit keeps shutting down with no functions available or sound. Porsche dealer says its a software problem with the optic link ! -- 'resets' it and this works for approx 2 weeks it is a real pain as the dealer is a 90 mile round trip. The Head Unit has been replaced but this has not cured the problem, Is there a known problem with these units? any feed back would be appreciated

POST 2Original post

I have exactly the same problem and my PCM2 unit also clicks when you start the car most of the time as if it can't find the sat nav CD. The dealer (AFN Guildford) has said (and I quote) "what do you expect when you order complicated ICE in your sports car" WELL DON'T OFFER IT THEN I REPLIED! (you tw@t I thought - it was the old guy who works in service by the way) I have also been told it's because the system uses optical links rather than conventional wires and there is a known problem with it... The bottom line is tough sh#t. Thank you Porsche.

POST 3Original post

Same problem with my Boxster, OPC say you just have to live with it. [ ]

POST 4Original post

That really is a poor response from the dealer...can't imagine it's beyond the wit of man to resolve the problem - though obviously beyond the scope of your Porsche dealer. Try another dealer - or try Sempal (UK distributor of Becker audio - cdr 22) They seem pretty clued up on Porsche systems and gave a lot of useful advice in fitting a Becker satnav unit to my car. http://www.sempal.co.uk Jackie
