Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

originally just my rear arms were meant to be replaced however I thought it would just be good to replace both front and rear so the mileage stays a bit more uniform.
Leading evidence: 'Replace rubber in a 20+ year old car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is '6-8hr job depending' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace however i thought it would just be good' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
Probably a 6-8hr job depending on how corooded the bolts r.

Suggestion
Just changing my rear tires to 275/35/18 vs 285/30/18 has made a difference in ride over uneven and pot hole roads.

Suggestion
I haven’t run across any Porsche-specific reviews for these arms, so I could be wrong.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

yeah Im thinking I can hold off on that for now. Budget only allowing me to do control arms.

And Meyle or TRW are reputable OEM parts. To echo DJ, youll be very happy with the way the car handles. Best investment for you, outside of baseline of the motor.
I applaud your initiative to do ALL of the rubber bits. It's 20-year old stuff after all, and 90K miles. But I'm not sure you'll notice a huge difference until you do the struts and their associated tops/stops/etc. I don't want to dissuade you from doing it, just trying to manage expectations.
Meyle are not the OE standard parts they used to be. There's suggestions that the shore hardness of the bushings they fit, are now somewhat softer than the OE spec items. Here in Europe they come with a decent enough warranty, but plenty of people have been forced to use it, so they're no longer considered the Gold standard they once were.
TRW (if you can get them) the best after OE.
CTE getting good reviews too now. I used a combination of TRW (inner rack ends, outer rack ends, front and rear sway bar drop links, CTE tuning forks, OE rear top mounts, Lemforder front top mounts (a lottery now that a lot of their components are manufactured in China) Eibach adjustable front coffin arms (made in China). You get the picture ...
You guys are lucky, as with FCP you get a lifetime warranty, this side of the pond we have no such warranties available. So I chose to buy the best I could and pay the price.
Have you popped the wheels off and taken a good look at everything around the wheel wells? You will likely spot a number of inexpensive items to replace that you will wish you had on hand when you get in there. To figure out what you are looking at, there are a number of parts suppliers with online catalogs but I like to use AutoAtlanta. Very easy to navigate and very high confidence that you've picked the right part for your model. Check out the suspension and body pages associated with the the wheel areas. For example you'll likely find you'll want all four bellows on hand. And what they call "additional springs" (but are rubber pieces that I'd call a stop.) That kind of thing. Have fun.
roger that. I will look into how much everything may cost. I may needa get the struts and bits a little later. But thank you, I will keep what you said into consideration.
I am going to do a refresh myself as my 71k is making creaks and sounds when driving, plus at higher speeds it feels loose. I was researching and thinking of doing a combo of OEM and aftermarket. These godspeed coffin arms seems good as they offer adjustments

The same as the toe arms as well
https://godspeedproject.com/porsche-...-bearings.html
There is little feedback on the Godspeed line though?
Ha, Im researching them at the moment !
Positives :
Theyre very reasonably priced for an adjustable arm.
Theyve been responsive to my enquiries.
The ball joints are sealed.
They will supply replacement ball joints (though theyre $75 a pair) which seems quite expensive given the overall cost of the arms.
Negatives :
Theyre heavy (because theyre steel)
These are nicer, but theyre also considerably more expensive :

Well 99% of us do not need adjustable caster arms. Even when u lower the car it doesnt move the measurement that much. The toe arms dont look like a bad deal.
My quibble with the Godspeed tuning forks is the design. These aren’t links, they’re arms. Beam design is far superior to cylindrical for resisting bending forces. Think torsional loads for hard cornering. Two adjustment points double the room for twist and loosening. Control arms use contoured shoulders for added strength. Think how bridges use arches not angles (Godspeed) for load bearing. What quality is the steel? What quality is the corrosion coating? The OE style forged arms don’t corrode.
The website says “not for EXCESSIVE camber”. What is that number, precisely? You get what you pay for. I haven’t run across any Porsche-specific reviews for these arms, so I could be wrong.
Hm. This makes me feel better about taking the advice of a local shop and coughing up the bucks for genuine Porsche bits. (Though I did use TRW steering rack bits and swaybar links.)
Seems fairly high. Probably a 6-8hr job depending on how corooded the bolts r. Im sure the book time is high. It will need an alignment but since all the arms r fixed and if u mark the eccentric bolts/washers it will go quick on their rack.
Anyone have experience with Dansk or Prekom suspension arms?
I have heard mixed reviews about Meyle, but my limited experience with their products in the BMW world has been good.
OP, did you place order? Im looking to tackle a bit of a suspension refresh this spring so will be following along to see your success and if you have any other bits and pieces that might be worth adding.
Good to know, I am not going to track my Targa, just street driving and if the certain parts are the same price as aftermarket was just seeing if some finer tuning came be had. Just changing my rear tires to 275/35/18 vs 285/30/18 has made a difference in ride over uneven and pot hole roads. I got a really good deal on the 275s otherwise I would have stayed with 285
Yes i did place the order for both front / rear arms and sway bar links. and theyre supposed to be delivering them today!
i got a quote from an indy down the street from my job, who can do the install/alignment for precisely $1356.80 lol.
Ive been looking into trying out the FEAL 441 Coilovers as well so i can fully complete the refresh. i've only heard good things about the FEALs on 996's. So im going to give them a try.
However i will most likely get the FEALs and install those at a slightly later date. hopefully within the next 2-3 months from now.
I have stock height suspension and felt the 30 had a larger gap on the sidewalls, of course if you lower that gap is gone. But I like the 35s and they close the gap a little better.
nice, good luck with it. Did you need to order any other odds and ends in addition to the F+R control arm kits and F+R sway bar end links? Also, it might be too soon to tell, as your installer will certainly let you know if you missed anything.

Seems much more reasonable.
No i didnt order anything else other than those kits you mentioned.
Im hoping that i dont need anything else. i probably could have ordered new nuts and bolts.
i scheduled to drop my car off this Friday so we'll see. I actually work the new porsche dealer here in SF so if i do need any small bits then i'll order right away for a next day delivery lol
