Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, My drivers door lock and central locking work fine unless I lift the drivers door external lever while the door is locked. When I do this the door will not open when unlocked. Any thoughts on this problem would be very welcome. Many thanks Bob C

POST 2Original post

does the window drop a 1/2 inch when you lift the handle? If not then most likely the microswitch in that handle has gone out.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Rick, Thanks for the response. The window does drop half inch as you say. Bob

POST 4Original post

Any update on this? My door opens and closes fine from the inside. When the passenger door is unlocked, I can pull the outside handle and the window will drop down, but the door latch will not release. It was giving me a hard time the last few months, but it just completely stopped opening from the outside all together the other day. Any ideas? Is it the outer door handle pull lever trigger? Thank you!

POST 5Original post

Till it is fixed you could hold the key in the unlock position which lowers the windows then use the inner door lever to get in. Good luck trouble shooting it.

Go over to Rennlist.com and search ( if you are a member) or post this q there. There have been a couple who have had similar problems and posted the fix. There is a rod\pin\screw\cable that needs to be adjusted\tightened.

POST 7Original post

I just give my door a quick bump right over the keyhole and it works every time... although as the above fix is the right way to go, this should work until you get to it.
