My brake calipers are in need of a refurb, due to one broken bleed nipple and 2 seized bleed nipples. Ostensibly, they look to be in good condition with the red paint and decals looking fresh. I have just had a quote from a well known Sussex Specialist to refurb all 4 calipers at an eye watering £2025 inc VAT!. The quote covers carriage and labour for taking off and re-installing. Is this now the going rate or could I/should I look elsewhere?!

Im not going to name the garage. Ive always had good work done there in the past. It just shocked me. I thinknit would be cheaper to buy new calipers installed! Is it just a way of saying ‘we don’t want the business; its too fiddly’ etc?! Thanks for the recommendation. I will speak to them

You can do the swap the same day. Typical turn around for the refurb is normally 7-10 days.
