I replaced the snap rings on the half shafts because the manual states: “Always replace the snap ring for the halfshaft flange." Part number: 99633224900

I used a long piece of 2x4" and a mass hammer to tap them in from the wheel well.

I did mine whilst the engine was out, i bought the seals from DSF bearings on ebay for like 5 quid each, i can't find the part number now as i changed my lap top, but if you measure it you could find them easy enough.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Fitted new Beru coil packs yesterday and whilst under there I noticed some oil leaking from the passenger side of the differential/transaxle where the driveshaft goes in. It's just started as it wasn't like that last week.
Does anyone know of a good guide on how to change those seals? I don't think it's too complicated but I'd prefer to read up before getting stuck in.
Because my diff is apart i used it to extract the seal and install the new one. But as yours is in situ then follow Alex's link. My diff flanges came out without too much drama. I replaced the snap rings on the half shafts because the manual states: “Always replace the snap ring for the halfshaft flange." Part number: 99633224900

Mine is a 6-speed manual and I did it over last winter. The flanges pull out relatively easy, but getting them to seat back in was a b*tch! I used a long piece of 2x4" and a mass hammer to tap them in from the wheel well.
The seals are also a special shape, so you if you just get matching dimension lip seals they won't work. The lip is recessed on the OE seals so they actually meet with the sealing surface on the flanges.
Do you think this is the one?

that looks good it's the correct size.
the flange should come out easy with a slide hammer if you have one, if not just screw a couple of bolts back in and use it to lever the flange out .
This won't fit on the 6-speed manual. The diameters are correct, but the shape is wrong. If you try to use this seal the lip will sit against the radius on the drive flange and leak. AFAIK the right version is not available from your standard bearing / seal dealers, though you can get it aftermarket referencing the Porsche part number.
I thought I had cross referenced it being Elring but I'm sure you're right.
Spent some more time on this and I think the correct one is Elring 843.650 not 749.885 (the one I bought)
The D911 brown one (OE Match) I think might be a Febi Bilstein one.
This is the design for 843.650
This is 749.885..
