Can anyone direct me to photos of a
Cayman
with the 'palm green' leather interior? I know, I know: this has probably got to be the oddest choice outside of terracota. However, I once saw a grey exterior / green leather interior
Boxster
in German and it was beautiful and unique. If anyone has experience with this, please chime in. In particular, any owners who ordered it: did it meet your expectations or arrival or was it a flop?
I had a black
Boxster
with the Nephrite Green full leather interior. It was really striking but people couldn't visualize it- I couldn't either, it was an impulse buy off a dealer's lot, when I went in to place an order. But it hurt the resale value because it was so unusual, so if you are only planning to keep the car a few years I wouldn't do it, or lease.
I personally love it. Paired w/ GT Silver Metallic----it's absolutely striking. If you do it, you must add some makassar wood interior too. I wish I had some pictures, I drove a C4S Cab in Spain at the dealer
launch
trip in this color combo. It's so cool and classy.
It is a fact though, trade in value would be less when compared to a more traditional interior.
Order it, for yourself!
Seth & Woodhouse: I had not paused to think that it would affect resale value, at least in the eyes of a private buyer, but I suppose you are right. Personally, I do not think the color combo of silver over green is that quirky, certainly not in Germany where they are the Bavarian state colors, and certainly not as much at the all orange $400 K
Porsche
GT discussed elsewhere on this board. Come to think of it, I do recall one other green leather interior car, a stunning 300SL gullwing that belonged to one of my dad's friends I saw as a kid sometime in the early 60's -- it made the surrounding Detroit ironseem so timid and stupid and mass produced. I guess you are influenced in the car realm by your childhood experiences. Speaking of which, if you have not seen the video running on
