The only reason I took them off was because I had installed a set of modded 3.6 mufflers.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

31 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey Guys, I have an annoying rattle in my drivers side muffler. I took it off the car and flipped/shook it around a few times and there is a piece clearly loose in there... You think I should operate on it and some how fix it... after tig/mig it with stainless steel? Or should I just replace it? I need some opinions... Thanks

POST 2Original post

some people have just sliced them open and tacked the loose parts back on... weld er' back shut... That said you have to have some welding skill for that. There are 3.4 cans that come up all the time for cheap and even 3.6 that do too... the other option is a Fister D replacement... they have a 1000 votes as "best value/sound for the money" he uses OEM cans for his mods see if I can find some pics for you

Thanks man! are those the same ones i'm running stock? if I recall correctly when i took it down, had a name like Aisman or Eisman? I should've paid more attention to the name... But regardless.... I'm going to a indy that I know tomorrow and i'll attempt this with my mec!

POST 5Original post

pics of the mufflers is the only way I can tell you what you have because I already tried squinting at your avatar

POST 6Original post

There is a set of 3.4s in Kingston for sale. Rickker has them for sale. I would sell you mine, but FisterD is getting them.

POST 8Original post

Seriously??? That could be a great deal for 3 hours to go and get them and come back to Ottawa

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll snap pics in the light tomorrow morning! Thanks for the help!

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here is a pic of the left muffler.... Tomorrow it's due for open heart surgery If that doesn't really work, I will probably need to find the same one somewhere...

Oops, here are the pics: Attachment 456648 Attachment 456649

POST 14Original post

trade it in for some fister d's, and explain the circumstances..... never know, it might even be cheaper or a wash.

POST 15Original post

That's right. They are free for pickup, of just pay shipping. They do have some seam splitting, but no exhaust leaks and no rattleing. The only reason I took them off was because I had installed a set of modded 3.6 mufflers.

POST 19Original post

Quotes source post: 7706353

Fergus, I did have them for sale, until I realized that they did have some seam splitting. Then decided I would rather give them away, rather than have somebody complain that I had misrepresented them.

POST 20Original post

H&LL of a deal there.... but you have to be a member to take the free stuff too

POST 21Original post

Might try some new rear tires while you have it worked on

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7708535

That too! Geez I love this car, I think I'm going crazy!

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just operated on on the muffler and everything is ok now There was a loose pillar type thing that was free. I just took it out and reinforced the other one since it was looking like it had it's days... Also did a Oil change! Man, this car is truly amazing! I'm not going to lie, I had the best time with it last night lol After the muffler fix, I think I cruised All of Ottawa 50 times.

POST 24Original post

so you operated like the thread I showed you? COOL !!!

POST 25 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7720845

Yup! Exact same procedure! Man, I was cruising and driving till 3 am and I had work today at 9am. I literally couldn't stop driving!! this car is incredible! My lisence plate frame for the rear in chrome came in today and my clears are going to arrive any minute!! Now I just need the chrome bulbs, tires and alignment, then pedals... then mats, then....

POST 26Original post

yup I know..... Have you been out to the track yet? Is it offered close to you? That is gonna really open your eyes to the "fun factor"

POST 27 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7720988

No I never been. I know it is available about an hour away. I don't really want to track the car for some reason. I know it would be extremely fun, and I think I would get to addicted! I want to keep it mint with spirited drives here and there and save $$ in a sense... Later on I might though!

POST 28Original post

before DE's i thought it would be "hard on the car" and as long as you dont go overboard... its NOT... just eats up a little bit of tire and thats really about all... well worth the $ and really wont harm the car IMO...try and go to an event for a "look"... you will really want to get out there. Its like driving very spritiedly, for a longer stretch with no worries of a ticket

POST 29 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7721275

The way you worded that post actually makes me want to get out there! But I will def take a look and see for myself what's available. I know it would be a hell of a good time... But This car really got to me! I actually appreciate it so much! And knowing that I have parts on order and next mod ideas just excites me even more. More so then my previous car that's for sure. Can't wait to finish work and get in her!!

POST 30Original post

kind of like we say... dont know why I waited so long to get a p-car, but I am not going to be without one if I can help it..... from here on out!
