Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A friend has an issue where his hazards aren’t working but his indicators are. He assumed it was the switch but has just tried mine and still no joy. I believe it runs off the same fuse as the indicators so won’t be that. Any other suggestions?

POST 3Original post

Mighty complicated part of the wring loom that. There's the hazards switch, the indicator column switch and the flasher relay but they all also go via the alarm control unit. Anything off the alarm control unit that is not behaving can sometimes be down to moisture in the control unit, but also sometimes not... Not very helpful but gives you an idea of how tricky it could be to solve. A few years ago, it took me several weeks of tracing wires, finding node points in the loom and input from a Porsche electrical guru to work out why I had no interior lights or mirror vanity lights. That turned out to be one moisture damaged component in the alarm control unit.

Do the hazards come on if your friend performs an emergency stop? (They should)

Porsche introduced that in 2008/2009
