Hello all,
I have a 2008
Cayman
Base. The windows and door locks quit working all at same time.
I am thinking it is the FCU since I have checked the fuses, Battery is new. I hate to stick it in the shop if it something I can repair. Just checking to see if this has happened to anyone else?
I guess I am the only one this has ever happen to
Not a common issue. In order to diagnose it will take a
Porsche
specific test tool (ex
PIWIS
, or others discussed in
Porsche Diagnostics and Programming
. This is the best way to test the control module. But just to clarify, are the locks not working from the physical key, key fob, lock/unlock button, all of them? Has there been any attempts to program or adjust any "comfort features" to lower windows via key fob, or when the rear hatch is opened? What happens if you push the lock button on the fob multiple times?
There is likely some electronic interaction between the locks and windows within the central locking system, with regard to safety and security. Its not clear to me what the "rules" are.
As I was saying, with a diagnostic tester you should be able it test the control module and active those items.
Hello RSchwerer----Physical key works for the locks. Key fob only makes a click. interior central lock does not work. Windows driver and passenger both do not operate. I have a
iCarsoft
CR max but it does not seem to have the ability to test the actuators. I doubt that the individual door locks and window motors have all gone out at the same time. Again I have checked fuses and also wiggled the FCU and connections located beside the driver side fuse panel area. It is wrapped in plastic I suppose to ward away moisture so I did not remove the plastic and unplug and re-plug the individual connectors to the FCU. thank you for helping analyze this issue. So everything else seems to operate fine.....not sure if interior lights are affected. The dash shows the take to shop then the red exclamation light.
FYI - My
iCarsoft
CR Max shows these codes.C122, C123, C130, C131, C132, C128, 8004 Terminal 50, C102,121,123,122-----All seem to be related to comfort system
All the above codes relate to wheel speed sensors----now I am really puzzled
