Suggestion

I'd try to check & clean the inside of the spoiler first tho, make sure there's nothing like dirt/oil/dead rats caught in between.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys has anyone has this problem before. I only noticed it this morning when i got into the car that the spoiler hasn't gone back down into the boot?? Is this a major problem or is there anyway i can reset this??

POST 2Original post

There's a button to manually retract it near the clutch pedal to the left side. Press and hold the bottom of the button. EDIT: Wait, since you're in South Wales, it should be on the right side of the gas pedal... I'd try to check & clean the inside of the spoiler first tho, make sure there's nothing like dirt/oil/dead rats caught in between.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

perfect cheers mate will take a look when i get out of work!! this is my first boxster so panicked a bit then!! When does the spoiler come out?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

it may have been stuck there due to the ice its very cold here!! why is there that button then? do some people have the spolier up permanently?

POST 6Original post

There's a button because. It's always good to have manual override. I think it's there so you can put it up for cleaning. Or show it off to your friends. I've seen people who put it up while driving on city streets. Gives me a cheap laugh!

POST 7Original post

I use my button to put the spoiler up for cleaning. It also came in handy when I applied my "Mach Schnell" decal on the spoiler. As for being stuck up, I think we all get an attitude from time to time, but I can't say as my spoiler has ever been stuck up.

POST 8Original post

My 2002 boxster went into the shop with the spoiler down. It was in the shop for two months. Came home with spoiler up and some damage. Owner agreed to fix front bumper gratis. When I took it in for body work I asked that spoiler be put down. They charged me $125 bc they had to “pull the engine “? Why not use the button????? Was I taken?

POST 9Original post

I don't think that they pulled the Engine for $125. Could it be that the had to pull the ' Spoiler Motor '? That would make sense if the spoiler motor jammed it in the up position.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
