Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I locked my 99 / 911 with the remote key. The car had been sitting and the battery is now dead. I used the key to unlock the door manually but the trunk remains locked. I'm trying to find another way to unlock the trunk to get to the battery..............help!

POST 2Original post

If you pull the fuse panel located by your left foot, you will see the spot where you apply 12v to pop the trunk.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I called the dealer and they said basically the same thing. They recommended pulling the fuse at C3 (row C, 3rd from the left) inserting a wire jumper. Connect a 12v power source to the wire and ground to the frame. This would activate the security system to release the trunk. Would a battery charger be a suitable 12v source? Are we talking about the same spot / fuse? Another way is to pull the passenger wheel and loosen the inner fender and behind the head light is a manual pull ring to release the trunk. Your suggestion looks like the quickest route. Thanks Bob A
