Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.
If nobody here can help there's a guy on PH who regularly supplies the codes. He is Richard Hamilton and a Porsche owner too:
Radio Code for porsche 986. trying to reach Richard Hamilton - Page 1 - Boxster/Cayman - PistonHeads UK

I rang Lookers Ford and they wanted £60 !
so I used onlineradiocodes.co.uk and found it and was free to use.
I recently changed the battery in my 1998 c2 and put the radio into security mode. I tried onlineradiocodes.co.uk. They couldn’t supply the code even thought I had all the details from the radio side sticker. I’m currently waiting for my refund which was at least offered. Does anyone have any positive experience getting a code for a Becker BE2280 CDR-21 unit? Apparently this was a 993 radio carried over to early 996s.
update on this…
I managed to contact Richard Hamilton and he’s was very helpful but unfortunately his decoder could not produce a code for my radio. In the end another member of Boxa.net suggested a radio code company RapidRadioCodes.co.uk and they got it first time and for a very reasonable £5.
The interesting thing I learned from an old RH post was that the code generators can be out by a digit or two particularly on the final digit. A different company send me a code of 0945 which didn’t work then supplied 0947 that didn’t work either. The code RRC supplied that worked was 0948. So if you ever get a code that doesn’t work it may be worth exploring numbers close to the one provided.
