Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just got the latch bit as a separate part, not expensive!

POST 2Original post

Hi, I took the opportunity for a quick drive this afternoon, but I must have pushed the seat to far back & I’ve broken off one of the prongs on the latch that seats the wind deflector in the side location. i don’t want to have to buy a complete new item, but I can’t seem to be able to find if I can just buy a new latch unit? does anybody have any ideas? Thanks, Shane

thanks for that. I have now ordered the parts. shane

POST 5Original post

Just to add I carefully drilled out the pin and added a dowel and glued it in place. Been okay for some years now. The standard pin gets brittle with age it seems. The whole thing is pretty flimsy IMHO.

POST 6Original post

I got the kit from Deroue & it was a piece of cake to replace.
