Hi I’ve checked the pipe and can confirm it’s connected but I’m a little puzzled as there isn’t any water running out of it so I’m wondering if it’s blocked and which drain hole does it empty , any ideas greatly appreciated

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I’ve a common problem in my 2003 911 996 soft top I’ve had wet floor and seat area behind drivers seat So took the rear side panel off cleared the hopper that collects the water and thought I could then concentrate on drying the carpets. This morning it’s raining so decided to check that all is as it should be The hopper is empty but the carpet is drenched again however I did notice that the corrugated pipe that drops into the hopper is not showing any signs of water running through it so I’m wondering if it’s not actually attached at the other end and I’ve no idea where that other end connects to . Appreciate any help thanks

Thanks for the vid , will I need to have the rear window up like in the vid ( mine has glass rear window ) to access the point where the tube connects ?

what do you mean there's no water running out of it, water will only be in this piping when it's actively being poured on the back of the roof, presumably you're not doing that so why are you expecting water to be "stored" somewhere? If you have a blockage that results in water in the passenger carpet it will be at the bottom, see here the plastic cover installed from factory appears to be an anti-rodent measure, if you don't leave in a rat infested area you're fine to remove it In case you're not aware if you have the same issue on the passenger side your alarm module underneath the passenger seat is at risk, you should remedy that sooner rather than later.

Hi thanks for the reply and I thought I had mentioned I was sat in the car as it was raining today and water was collecting in the hopper from the inner water channel but nothing was coming out of the pipe and pretty heavy and consistent rain here today Thanks
