Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm planning on installing a set of coilovers on my -99 base Boxster. Last summer I replaced all the wheel bearings and it was an absolute pain to disassemble everything. Is there some way I can replace the suspension without needing to disconnect the rear drive shafts? The new coilovers are complete with new top mounts, so I was hoping it would be a matter of only removing the brakes (obviously), the nuts from the top mounts and the drop links (I have a set of new ones), and kind of fold the spring and shock absorber out under the wheel arch. I'm not against disconnecting the track rods or control arms. It's just the drive shafts and hub nuts I don't want to mess with.
