Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello I have a 996 gen 1 with 18" turbo wheels, have any of you put wheel spacers on the rear. I have always felt the wheels sit to far into the arches but don't want to add any if its not advisable for any reason. Any recommendations would be gratefully received. Cheers Phil

POST 2Original post

Hi Phil 15mm rear spacers on mine and they fill the arches fine, longer bolts are also reqd. Andy

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Andy I do have the m030 suspension. where did you get yours from ? And are your fronts spaced as well or standard. thanks Phil

POST 4Original post

They were already on the car. I had thought about fitting 7mm on the front but never followed it through. Have a good look online for recommendations, lots of sellers out there good luck Andy

POST 5Original post

Stupid question, (perhaps), but does the size of your wheel affect how big the spacer can be? Many thanks

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 8Original post

I may be incorrect but is it not just different term for the same thing? This may help. https://www.performancealloys.com/wheel-spacers-shims

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Andy that’s very helpful. just realised I will need New wheel locking bolts as well as standard ones

POST 10Original post

When I took my turbo to Center Gravity Chris recommended 7mm spacers on the front to help reduce understeer. I actually put them front and rear in the end, but it does improve the looks a bit too.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That is interesting thanks Mr pg
