Absolutely this, there were few bucket seat gen1s so they got premiums so everyone ordered buckets in gen 2 ,but it was the tourings that commanded the big premiums,so every tom dick and harry will be buying the touring 992.

Personally I don't see how you can use the amount of cars in pictures, adds etc as a reference point as due to high " Market Price" of the Touring Option cars many have changed hands several times.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Lately, I keep seeing references to there only being 47 tourings that were C16 uk cars. This is written in the forum topics and used sometimes when people/dealers are selling these cars.
So is this myth or do we have concrete evidence of this number? who first said there are 47?
So at the weekend I started to count and build a very basic sheet to collect as many different cars as possible.
I am currently up to number 35...
Number 1 on the list was easy, that's my one, from new.
2 and 3 are Chris Harris's cars!!
From then on I just used car adverts, for sale and sold, I think about 28 have been re-sold on my list.
Some cars are from Instagram and 1 or 2 from members posts and pics on here.
I now want to try to get up to 47!
So, can you guys help?
If you have owned, nearly owned, know an owner or have any other info please could you send me a mail?
I am not sure I should post what info I have at the moment (its in rough shape) and I don't want to infringe anybody's personal info.
I might build a small website of pics and basic spec for the found cars, I am sure in time all will come to the public domain anyway.
By the way, this is what happens when you lay in the sunny garden all day with nothing to do!
I hope you guys can help!
A friend of mine had one and he always said there were less than 100 RHD in the U.K.
Wouldn’t rely on DVLA, as the registered model info can be very unreliable.
You could guesstimate that each U.K. OPC probably sold 2 or 3, but PCGB should know the exact figures. Or, maybe the Club GT3 Register?
Certainly likely to be a lot more 992 Tourings.
Not sure about the 48 No above, but someone that would know told me a while back the 47 had chosen to go with the Touring Spec option. No 50, not 35 or 90, but 47. Personally I don't see how you can use the amount of cars in pictures, adds etc as a reference point as due to high " Market Price" of the Touring Option cars many have changed hands several times. I know the R no of 74 is correct as I have a book on back ground to the car with all the Production Nos for each region.

Hi Apolo1
I am guessing you know your stuff and some in the know people. Do you believe him/her?
As for the photos, yes its a bit difficult, But I identify each picture, scan for the different colours/options,stitching,belts,trim,wheels,brakes,dials and so on and eliminate the duplicates...
Once the spreadsheet is started it has been easy to cross reference these cars.
Obviously someone can do a wheel colour change or even seat belt colour change and different decals, but options and the cars don't change so easily.
Some adverts even have number plates and chassis numbers. makes it easy then!
Anyway, any more help you can be, please do
Thanks
l have one - hopefully i'll always have this one. there are a few owners on here, but not many. my dealer (mid sussex) only had one other customer spec the 'touring' option. he told me less than 50 cars, which he was told by Porsche GB, but he may be wrong, who knows.

Hi,
It came up as flippant comment during a conversation a while back now, when chatting about the GT3.2.
With someone that would know the exact No.I would have thought that more would have gone Touring spec Tbh. But its seems lots wanted to been seen that they had a "GT3", the Touring is very much a Q, car Imv I think that's the appeal of it.
I agree
I’ve always had GT3 cars, but never liked the rear wing really
The touring is how I always wanted it.
As others have said, not a popular option.
Which is, for me. Perfect!
Had the option went with the wing...will I regret it in ten year’s time when I hopefully still own my car ? Perhaps !
There was a left hand drive Touring for sale on Mobile.de a couple of months ago in Dark Sea Blue with Silver Trim and Wheels...thought it looked he dogs danglies and maybe if I do decide having a winged GT3 isn’t a car for me any more I’d be sorely tempted by a car like that.

The late launch and availability in the 1.2 GT3 model cycle is one of the reasons there are so few Tourings around

Do you know if there was any C16 PTS?

As far as I know nobody in the UK got PTS on any GT3.2
some are wrapped,
some are not C16 cars
For reference, I have found so far
Carmine X 3
Agate X 5
Graphite X 3
GT Silver X 9
Jet Black or Flat Black X 9
Sapphire X 3
Yellow X 1
White X 4
I am almost sure I have seen a Crayon one but never took any details a year or so ago.
Anyone else know of any genuine colours?

There’s a Gulf Orange GT3 which I think is PTS and UK supplied and Maxted Page had a Maritime Blue Gt3 which was advertised as UK PTS. I like many people was told no PTS but it seems some people got them. In the US 10% of GT cars are PTS now. The owner of the Gulf Orange car did his PEC Experience the same day as I did mine. Which I guess in itself indicates it was a UK car.

That’s interesting
I will check them out. Thanks
I have a PTS gen 1 RS, which was difficult to get.
I was told no PTS on gen 2, as that’s what I ordered....
However, those orange cars have wings, so not a major concern.!!

My OPC told me that Porsche GB/OPC’s were given the choice of getting some PTS build slots or getting an increase number of cars so they decided the latter. No idea how true it is but presumably there was a reason why this was basically the only country where you couldn’t get PTS.
This is an old link to the Maxted Page advert I just found.

That’s some top work there
Thanks for that info
Everyday is a school day and we’ve learnt PTS gen 2 cars exist..
I bet no PTS tourings though..
Whoa!!
And this Agate Grey car that has racing green pin stripe wheels and lots of green interior leather throughout the interior...
Some references to this being CXX options, I’m not sure..
Here are three together taken last Christmas. Closest is mine, owned from new. Has folding buckets.
Middle car is Crayon, obviously. Last car is also Agate but is the one in the earlier pictures with all the CXX options including green interior.
I was told absolutely no PTS for UK GT3's at the time.

Me thinks there could be more than 47, or I have done an exceedingly good job in 5 days or half hearted investigating!!

Opc south london had a gt silver car last summer. Gold wheels. Std seats. Carbon mirrors.
They also sold a new crayon one. Black wheels. Remember it a couple of years back and being in love.

But some of those are duplicates
I need to work out what the real number is tomorrow
But I guess I will be about 43...
A chap called ‘bugskillsfast’ got a RHD PTS GT3 with a wing. His friend is oakengurwnmetallic and they both convinced Porsche to give them unique PTS cars.

Didn’t want to count my chickens.. Car was finally picked up today. So pleased to finally get my dream car having owned a couple of 991’s, GTS’s are great cars but the GT3 Touring is the best car Porsche have made in years, the likes of which we may not see again.

Iconic auctioneers sale today 24 February 2024.
Result suggests this sold for £139,500.
https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/2018-porsche-911...
What am I missing, it even has contrasting stitching!
I suspect it's the devil in the detail of this:
Auctioneer's description said:
At just over 5,000 miles, the car was involved in a rain-induced spin,
So the price at which the car sold was £139,500 (which included the 12.5% commission) + the vat on the 12.5% commission ... but as with CC the commission can vary in order to make a fragile sale stick.
Monch said:

Would that include the auctioneers premium ? 15% ? + vat ?
This
I think at £140 + 15% we are at £161k
For a higher mileage car and one with an accident of unknown quantity to us, I reckon that’s a pair price to be sold into the trade or private buyer at auction.
Will be interesting to see if it appears at a dealer and what it may retail at.
The 138K was the all in price, I was watching the auction on the youtube livestream, and the hanner went down at 124K + fees

is it possible to view the register of Tourings somewhere? I'm starting my journey to look for one - 2nd option is changing the decklid on a winged car, or perhaps even a 992

£124k + 12.5% (£15,500) = £139.5 + vat on £15,500 = £3,100 Total £ 142.6k ??
Hasn’t the OP got up to 71 UK cars now?? Amazing bit of advertising and the 47 is always put out there by the Indies but actually there are 50% more UK cars?
No exact number
Even this year another car came to light.!
My best guess is I have 63 cars with known chassis/engine/registrations/reg dates.
I also have another 14 cars that lack information to make the final list.
Of these 63 cars, some maybe imports or for some other reason have fooled me.... maybe dewinged GT3s....aagghhh.
Of the other 14 cars, they maybe real or maybe duplicates, most probably duplicates I would say.
I also have another dozen cars or so that are dewinged or imports/lhd which are not C16s
Essentially with the information I have, 47 is incorrect, but its really not many more.
One day I need to sit down with a genuine vin data check tool and nail down a number and then I think we will be close!!!!
Either way, I am happy for everyone to say 47 until I say so....!!! :-)
Ok well done though. 47 it is then!
Wonder how many are with their original owner. A lot seem to have changed hands quite frequently.
A friend just bought an Agate grey car for c.£180 which seemed like a good buy to me.

Have folding buckets in mine as specced from new. Highly recommend them. Really comfy and practical for rear access. Not sure many people ordered them.
Not an option on the 992 GT3 which is a shame. Possibly deleted as they were expensive to make?
Also have folding buckets on my Touring. Wonderful seat I can do six hour non-stop stints in and feel fresh
I’ve been keeping an eye on the Touring market for a little while, and I’m curious as to why this one at Premier GT appears to be sticking, any thoughts?
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/2024082231...
The others that I’ve seen come up since the start of the year have found new owners pretty quickly
You need to check into the cars history. I believe it was sold by Silverstone auctions and had been in an accident where it had been spun. Unless there is a 100% identical car out there!!
Aha, thanks for that, knew there had to be a reason why (big price considering Porsche dealer sold examples have been less, and presumably not crashed if they are sold as approved)

Love this Carmine Touring, especially with the white decor. Looks very classy
Actually think the stickers look awful - fine on ‘70s Fords and Mini 1275GTs, but tacky on a Touring - everyone knows it’s a Porsche, it doesn’t need to be emblazoned down the side. Classier without.
Of course, I’ve seen worse. Some people have to have it on the bonnet and rear spoiler as well

Thats ok too, don't feel bad about that.
Does anyone know the story on this GT Silver comfort car, that has been sitting around since end of last year? £35k worth of Litchfield work apparently.

The bulk of this "upgrade" cost are the Ceramic brakes, which many have factory ordered at quite a lower cost. What remains is a new exhaust and a fancy diffusor. That doesn't make the car much more attractive than a vanilla GT3 with PCCBs

I get that part, but was more curious as to the lack of it selling, while other cars seem to go quickly. Do you think the 'upgrades' are putting buyers off, as people want a stock car?
May 2025…. Guesstimate of how many Tourings in the UK?
From ChatGPT:
As of 2024, the UK has approximately 123 registered Porsche 911 GT3 Touring models and 309 registered Porsche 911 GT3 Touring S-A models.
These figures encompass both the 991 and 992 generations of the GT3 Touring. The “Touring” designation refers to a version of the GT3 that omits the fixed rear wing for a more understated appearance, while retaining the high-performance characteristics of the standard GT3. The “S-A” suffix indicates models equipped with Porsche’s PDK (dual-clutch automatic) transmission.
The 991 GT3 Touring was introduced in 2017, and the 992 GT3 Touring followed in 2021. Both generations have been available with manual and PDK transmissions, contributing to the total numbers mentioned above.
If you’re interested in a more detailed breakdown by specific model year or transmission type, feel free to ask!

Prices of these cars definitely seem to be firming up. Several recently for c. £250 and one now at JCT 600 for £265. It’s only done 2000 miles but low spec.
