Suggestion

I have managed to move the pipe at the cooler by using a sharp bladed screwdriver and a hammer but this is more problematic at the gearbox end due to lack of space.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys Has anyone here changed the 996.1 ZF Tiptronic (5HP-19)ATF cooler pipes? mine are rusty and need changing as fluid is dripping from a rusted section. I have now sourced replacement pipes, however upon removing the bolts and the saddles the pipes won’t budge. Can this be done with the transmission in place? Do I need to remove the cooler first? Could you remove just the two pipes? I could cut them however not sure if I am able to fit the new ones with everything in place. may aim is to replace with minimal disruptions to current oil and coolant line if possible. any guidance and assistance would be greatly appreciated. Rgds Dan

does this help Tiptronic Oil Cooler Pipes Whilst having the car up on the ramps with wheels off to fit new FSD's i noticed the two steel pipes that appear in the off side wheel arch and disappear through the arch liner to the rad in the front PU are looking quite sorry for themselves. Hi, I am facing the exact same issue. I need one of the pipes removed so I can change the o-ring as this part is leaking at the cooler end. I have managed to move the pipe at the cooler by using a sharp bladed screwdriver and a hammer but this is more problematic at the gearbox end due to lack of space. I need to get the bottom pipe off from the gearbox end but it is not budging. I have soaked it with WD-40 for a couple of days but still nothing. Any help you have would be much appreciated. Thanks Wayne
