This is not a probability of success.

I tried to use the glow unit with the existing and it heats up, but you would have to hold it in manually.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, I have an existing cigarette lighter in the car, but did not have the glow unit. So I bought a whole new assembly. How do I remove the old one? Can it be removed from the front? I tried to use the glow unit with the existing and it heats up, but you would have to hold it in manually. With the new one, you push it in and it stays in I guess til it pops out ready to light whatever. TIA.

POST 3Original post

Second try with the instructions on how to remove the lighter - this time using the browse button. If it does not work send me an email. I must be doing something wrong as the image should not be that big. Also when I preview the reply I do not see it. Jeff

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the picture of the lighter removal and the instructions that come with it. Will have to see if I can wrangle myself in there. Looks a bit like a contortion to get to it. Anyway, very helpful and much appreciated!
