Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, Is the splitter below the bumper part of the GT3 or Aerokit for the 996.2? Can I put this splitter under my stock 996.2 C2 bumper? Any help would be appreciated for a new 996.2 C2 owner! Lavan

POST 2Original post

@Interference Fit is your man on this I reckon....

Think his were for 996.1? I could be wrong

POST 4Original post

Not sure, perhaps 996.1 with aero....I was going to buy one but being non aero I didn't. Sure he'll be along soon enough.

POST 5Original post

ask the guy that used to own it on IG

POST 6Original post

Yes, this is a bolt-on (plastic rivets and screws) part of the GT3 / Aero kit on the 996.2. It will not directly fit to a non-aero bumper as the standard bumpers are less square in plan view with a more uniform curve. You could re-drill the mounting holes on your existing bumper and 'make it fit', but I doubt the end result would look very good.

POST 7Original post

Any clue on where this can be procured, please?

Found this: Thread '996.2 Carrera Front bumper with GT3 Cup front lip' https://911uk.com/porsche/996-2-carrera-front-bumper-with-gt3-cup-front-lip.110866/ Looks OK? Guess it has been force fitted.

POST 10Original post

OP - I had a Cup bumper lip on my regular front cover. There are videos on the process. Cup and GT3 are same holes. Cup has a slightly deeper profile. Test fit with a couple of bits of 3M body tape and a second set of hands. Cut the excess off the ends ~1.5” iirc. Drill the holes, apply full length of body tape and use the regular GT3 plugs.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
