I have a 2010 997 Carrera S with pdk and 57k miles. A month ago I was driving along in manual mode when I noticed the car would not downshift, it took a few minutes to realize I could not manually shift. I ended in auto mode where there is no problem. No codes were or have since displayed. I began researching PDK issue and have become somewhat familiar with the horror show surrounding this issue. I found two places that specialize in PDK . Both quoted me almost 10k to repair. I am in a bit of a state of shock and continue to drive in auto mode with no problems. I suspect my worst problem is figuring out how to spend 10k on a recreational vehicle without my wife finding out! Is 10k a reasonable figure? are there qualified shops that will do this work for a more reasonable price? Jim

There are independent shops that specialize in PDk . Search some of the PDK failure threads. 10k can get you a reman from Porsche and then you pay to have your old one swapped out. The price really depends on what is wrong.
