Back in April I purchased a 2013 Carrara S and I've had one consistent issue with it - the airbag warning light comes on and stays on.
It's been at the dealer 3 times for this, and the last time they replaced the control module, which kept it off for about 2 weeks.
I detailed it this morning, and as I was backing out I realized it was on again.
I can't be 100% certain, but I do believe that pushing the passenger seat all the way back causes this. The dealer doesn't seem to believe me, but as this is now the 4th time they will be servicing this I think they may look at this now.
Anyone else ever have this issue? If so, I would love to know what the solution was.

I am new to forums so maybe this topic is now dead, but I came to ask a similar thing. I bought a 2009
Cayman S
used from my local
Porsche
dealer and I have taken it back three times now to turn the passenger airbag warning light off. The last time they said something important, that it's not just the light: the airbag is literally not going to work based on what they can tell. I will try the seat adjustment this week and let you know. Interesting theory because it was "fixed" for weeks and then this weekend I moved that passenger seat and now it's giving me that error again. Will see.
This is what they might have meant when they said the air bags won't work. Whenever the air bag malfunction indicator light comes on it means there is a problem in the air bag system and thus the air bag system is disabled. When this happens the air bags won't deploy because the system thinks there is something wrong.. The only thing that is not clear to me is are all the air bags affected or just the area that is causing the light to come on?
Didn't the dealer tell you what was cuasing the light to come on like the Passenger Presence Sensor, Seat Belt Latch Switch or some other sensor?
If the passenger seat is pushed up against the firewall, this can cause the light to stay on. I also once found a water bottle shoved under the seat that caused the sensor to not work correctly. Try changing the position of the passenger seat and make sure there is nothing under the seat. I had a light when I first got the car, but after those two "adjustments" I haven't had a light in 4 years.
I had a similar issue with my
997.2
. After a few trips to the dealer, they discovered a bad wire in the passenger seat. They repaired the wire and I have not had the issue again. That was about 9 years ago.
I fought the same issue and checked under the passenger seat and found the airbag connector plug disconnected. Recommend plugging it in or ensure it is connected firm and locked in.
