This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Who would have thought....stealing headlights! Wow! https://rennlist.com/how-tos/slidesh...paign=content#

POST 2Original post

I think our fried eggs are safe LOL... Theres a similar trend with the modern Gelandewagen headlights

Have you priced them lately? And they're ridiculously easy to remove. Personally I hope this doesn't become the next meth head fad.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was curious so I looked up the headlamp cost (single) on AutoAtlanta (Porsche OE) - $1977 each, so about $4 grand for a set. Sheesh!

POST 7Original post

I never would have thought one of my headlights would be more than my deductible.

POST 8Original post

Doesn't really make sense. I can't believe there is an easy way to cash in on stolen 911 headlights. It's not like catalytic converters which are stolen for the precious metals content. Is there a thriving black market for used headlights? Causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage to get something they'd probably get few hundred for is very disturbing.

POST 9Original post

Apparently you hav never gotten anything stolen? Most thieves will cause thousands of dollars in collateral damage to make $10. They dont care, and there isnt any punishment for this anymore.

POST 10Original post

It would seem so. Some dismantlers/resellers simply do not care where their supply comes from. Thieves probably get pennies on the dollar.

POST 11Original post

Well I guess if they werent 4 to 5 thousand dollars which is absurd to begin with, they wouldnt be sought after. Its really silly how much manufacturers are charging for plastic

POST 12Original post

My headlights were actually something I kinda worried about, not theft per se but a few years ago mine were yellowing and I wanted to look at other options with the hope of getting slightly better illumination out of them. The results werent great at the time and replacement headlights on eBay were a rude awakening. Also none of the current headlight refresh (lens replacement) guys did work on 996 lights at the time. I was surprised because there isnt much of an alternative and the market is a decent size it would seem. In the end I just sanded them and sealed them but I wasnt totally happy with the result (and did nothing for the inside lens which was beginning to yellow in the center from the halogen bulb). I just knew there was NFW I was paying $1000+ per side 😆

POST 13Original post

My 996.2 are safe as most of these idiots also hate my lovely headlights

POST 14Original post

Yea 992 headlights are $4500 per side, those may be the base ones as well.

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 19242752

exactly. the idea that headlights should be $4000 per pair is ****ing absurd.

AutoAtlanta has great diagrams but their markup is even more insane than Pelican. That being said, $2,600 is still too much for headlights.
