Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used thin PLASTIC drywall compound putty knives to pry open the center console covers so as not to scratch anything.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does the 2024
911
have the Auto/Start/Stop feature and do you have to turn it off every time you start up the car? I just ordered a new
911
and the dealer wasn't sure. (although he should know). I have a 2023 Macon and I only had to push the A/S/S button ONCE, on day 1 of ownership and it stays off.
My recently arrived 2024
718
Cayman
has the auto/start/stop which must be manually overridden every time I start the car, and I hate it! It does have a console button available to override, but I want it permanently gone!
I've had 3 new Boxsters in recent years with it and hated it. I found an aftermarket module that permanently overrides it (keeps it off at all times) They are relatively easy to install. People buzz about it "voiding" your warranty, and I had all 3 in for service many times at at different dealers and none have ever mentioned that they noticed it. (I thought their computer would rat me out but they never said anything). My 2023 Macon has the console button but I only had to press it once (A/S/S off) and never had to touch it again. That's how they all should be. I now have an order in for a 2024
911
and do not know how those work. I'm going to be at the dealer this week and I"m going to ask them. I guess some people don't mind jerking the hell out of their motor mounts at every red light but I do.
YES! The 2024
911
does have auto start stop and it must be shut off every time you start the car (unless you actually use it). There is a button on the steering wheel that can be programmed to accomplish this, otherwise it is necessary to go through the menu. As far as I know, only the RS models do not have stop start; at least that is true for the 2023
GT4RS

As with many designs, "less is more". I don't look forward to a new DD with lane alarms, start/ stop, half a laptop sticking out of the dash. I'd much rather go retro! Basic truck, roll up windows, only AC and cruise, boatload of working space under the hood, no oil reset and you write the milage in a small spiral notebook for the oil changes as god intended! Oh and if you get a flat you'll find out the old fashioned way and change it with a full size spare.
And to add to the confusion, that only applied to US cars. The European
981s
had to be disabled at every restart, so as with anything
Porsche
, the answer is always complicated
I have friends with
BMW
's, motorcycles and cars and from what they report ICNU, the "it's always complicated" applies to them too. It's like Jersey Mike's, it's a "German thing".

In the
992
(2024
911
) the Auto Start/Stop feature is always active when you start the car in Normal mode. You can configure the default
PCM
screen to have the Auto Start/Stop widget on the screen. It's very easy to disable it. Auto Start/Stop is also disabled when in Sport modes. You can also configure a custom mode where Auto Start/Stop is disabled, but you have to select your custom mode after starting the car.
