Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good evening all! Currently got b6 with lowering springs on my 4s. But I’m sure over time it’s got harsher and harsher. Unless I’m getting soft with age! Is there anything tests I can do to double check that it’s either my shocks or potentially my spring that’s died? I was under the car not long ago and didn’t see any leaks from the dampers.

POST 2Original post

Hi Tom do you know how old are the springs and dampers are, and how many miles are on them?

POST 3Original post

How old and what brand of tyres are on the car?

PS4s 3000miles old

POST 6Original post

I’ve found the PS4s are very harsh. Softer sidewalls yet firmer carcass. Not like the old SO2’s

POST 9Original post

I hated the B6 on my car, I went from Porsche M030 and found them even harsher. In the end I went with the Koni Special Actives, with M030 springs first and then H&R springs and these dampers were absolutely spot on with both of those. The H&R lowered the car a little more than the M030 but being progressive were a smidge more comfy around town and under 40mph, but then firmed up a bit more when you started to press on. This combined with a thicker anti roll bar and tweaked geo was 911 perfection for me on a road car. I had a few other 911 owners drive it, including 991 owners and all were really impressed with how a car that gripped so well and stayed so flat was so compliant at the same time. I have not managed to get my 997 anywhere near as good yet.
